vegas would be my choice in your position.
Me too, nice little wedding for two conducted by an Elvis looky likey and no guests giving the bride, groom and each other the evils. Just tell everyone you and the OH are going to Vegas to sort your relationship out (that'll shut 'em up) and when you get back tell 'em you sorted it out by getting married (that'll leave 'em dumbstruck).
.................:)....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

Lovin' the 'guests giving each other evils' and that's a huge part of it. Really, it shouldn't be that damned difficult. Everyone knows we are engaged, and settled - I think they just assume we won't ever get around to getting married though.

But we've bought a new house, I've stopped my manic job and am taking a year off, and it feels like it's a good time.
  • i'm getting married in las vegas soon. holiday inc hotel flights etc was £1,600, wedding will be approx £350 ish depending on exchange rate. after that its just spendin money. even for a week we will hopefully be taking over £2000. cheap its not but for the same reasons as yourself its the better option!

Thats a very ladylike username you have. lol

So what does your intended want wedding wise
I can see you don't know your Greek Mythology then ;)

And if you want another explanation, given to me by a friend, a lotus is known as the flower of a woman. So in being an eater of said flower, unless I was a lesbian..... :rotfl:

My intended wants what I want, otherwise I wouldn't so it. Or if you want the non pc version, she's the woman and does what she's told :D

we got married in vegas and it was perfect stayed at luxor and married at little white wedding chapel dinner at the Eiffel tower restaurant.

was about £1400 for flights (delta) & hotel.

Wedding was a package included outfits, flowers, & pics, we called freeds bakers and got a cake too :)

    Was perfect :)
  • My sister and her partner are doing registry office with strangers as witnesses - reason being that there are two large families involved, so if they invited parents they'd have to invite siblings, then partners of siblings, etc. They simply want to be married, end of, and hate the idea of being 'on show'. I completely support them in this, and although I would love to see my sister get married I respect her decision.

If that's what you want then do it. It might be an idea to warn family that you will be doing this beforehand (no need to give them a date, of course), so that they're prepared.

    Good luck!

  • In your circumstances I'd probably opt for eloping as well. If vegas is too pricey you could always run away to gretna green for the weekend :)
