cheap wedding?

Comments

  • We did Vegas and its definitely not cheap. The ceremony is, but Vegas is v. expensive...and so are flights, accommodation and in our case even getting to the airport! We loved it though but if we were on a budget we would not have done this. The pound is weak too and long haul flights and airport tax are very pricey at the moment

the biggest hassle of a Vegas wedding is getting your marriage certificate afterwards - the one you get at the ceremony is only a souvenier and its a huge pain getting the real thing!

I have to say I found Vegas extremely expensive as well. Drinks were often outrageous prices ( if you didnt get the freebies whilst you weer gambling) . Flights have also got a lot more expensive.

That said we had 4 nights in Vegas then hired a car for 3 nights away, we drove out into the mojave desert and stayed in motels. Which was really good.

I would also say that I dont think Vegas is really a child's place at all.

How about a family holiday in the Carribbean or Europe with a wedding?
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

Go and get married, then phone them all and invite them round for a few drinks the next weekend ;)

We went to Vegas over 10 years ago, the whole holiday cost £5K including clothes, it was in MArch so cheaper.

I hadn't thought about wearing a dress, I normally only do that on Thursday nights when I'm by myself. Along with the wife's underwear and a wig.

I think I'm wearing trousers and a shirt, no tie. Not sure what the Mrs is wearing.

    lol - sorry....... assumption there.
  • We got married in Vegas, we loved it, just the two of us. Perfect.

Most of the hotels etc list all their wedding prices online so that's easy.

We went Mid Jan as it was so cheap, but it's not hot there, but it's comfortable for walking etc.

Not sure why it was difficult to get the wedding certificate, we were given a form to fill in after the ceremony and just posted it off before we left. We got out certificate about 20 days after we got home, on Valentines day.

Ours cost £2,500 but that was flights, hotel (MGM Grand), wedding (MGM Grand), outfits, rings, serious blow out meal after the wedding and a helicopter ride over the Grand Canyon.

We did it all ourselves, booked through Lastminute (they seemed to take it in turns with Expedia to be the cheapest). I phoned the hotel the day before to see if they had availability, which they had. When we landed we had something to eat before heading to the chapel and booking for the next day. It was so easy they planned everything. We just had to turn up.

I think we all presumed you were female.
Thats a very ladylike username you have. lol

So what does your intended want wedding wise
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.
  • i got married in vegas with my parents. flights, transfers and hotel for 4 adults coz £3500 including the wedding, flowers and everything. all i had to pay was the $99 for the marriage license.

i didnt find it to be expensive at all personally, plenty of choice of where to eat, varying budgets and you get a $5 bus ticket which gets you as many rides as you want on the bus on the strip in one day so you can pop on and off and visit all the hotels/casinos you want.

vegas would be my choice in your position.
