Thanks, Russ. In fact the mac mouse doesn't really have separate buttons, you just click the mouse.

I'm very surprised that mac has copied the PC, usually the other way round.

Words, words, they're all we have to go by!.

  • I'm interested to know what problems you had with Skype between Mac and PC. I regularly work from home on my Mac, and communicate with office colleagues using Windows based machines. Absolutely no problems.

This goes back about 6 years. DS bought us a webcam( icam), downloaded the skype. We could see each other, but no sound. had to resort to using phone.

    Has that changed or improved?

Didn't mackintosh come up with icons first? I can remember the first demo in our staff room.

We were desperate to get them and replace the old BBC. The mac Classic was the main computer in my school for years. hence, it's the one I am comfortable with.

    No, that was Xerox.

I just had a look at Microsoft's current range of mice, you can get those hideous mice with no buttons for PCs too now, if that's what you prefer.

you referring to Apple's magic mouse when you imply of a hideous mouse with no buttons? the magic mouse is a genius piece of kit. If there was a microsoft version i could use at work i would love it. makes navigation so simple...

That was badly setup - no reason you cant Skype from Mac to Windows to Linux to Android to BSD to Symbian to ChromeOS or any other OS which has Skype available.
