Can I get funding to do GCSE's if I have low income?

I am going to do GCSE's through ICS learn. I need to re-do english maths and science. I need to take the course before november 15th to be eligable for the exam this june.

My question is can I get funding for ahome learning course. By november 1st (when I want to start the courses). It will cost £1,000 apprrox for all 3 subjects (£319 each).

I have to do home learning because my job is variable hours (care home) and i don't want to give up my job.

My income is well under 18k

you should be able to get a payment plan with these places and pay monthly. Doubt there are any grants available and as far as I know even the unemployed with no income that can qualify for free education would only get this for attending college rather than home learning.
Might be worth speaking to your local FE college and see what they offer, although your job is variable hours you may find that if you can attend 50% of the time and study at home the rest you may get through it

ICS is a private company, so there will be no help there. They might offer you a payment plan.

You might find that you can do a maths and english course with LearnDirect, which is equivelant to GCSEs. In some areas this is available for people on low incomes, while in some its the unemployed only. You study this online, and at the end receive a certificate.

I might have missed something but why do you need to re-do your GCSEs? Could you do an alternative such as Keyskills?
  • No funding for ICS. If you do not have GCSEs or equivalent in English and Maths you can take them at a local FE collage. Often there is an discount for those on low incomes. Job Centre also provides funding for Keyskills courses but obviously only if your out of work.

Why do you need to do science as well?

3 GCSE's are the minimum requirment for access to nursing courses. Science I just picked as the third because it is sort of related to nursing.

    They don't accept key skills
