Wedding reading?

I really liked that 'Maybe' one but it seemed a bit inappropriate with the first line given that we're both divorced and all our kids will be at the wedding!0

The only ones i am nsure of are the ones that are written in first person, may sound a bit strange coming from me and not the bride or groom! Please keep them coming!so far....Radox Waterproof book...10 Business cards (ideal for new pad!)...Fabric samples...Shower timer...Flush saver...Seeds ahoy...0

On Marriage
Kahlil Gibran
You were born together, and together you shall be forevermore.
You shall be together when the white wings of death scatter your days.
Ay, you shall be together even in the silent memory of God.
But let there be spaces in your togetherness,
And let the winds of the heavens dance between you.
Love one another, but make not a bond of love:
Let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls.
Fill each other's cup but drink not from one cup.
Give one another of your bread but eat not from the same loaf
Sing and dance together and be joyous, but let each one of you be alone,
Even as the strings of a lute are alone though they quiver with the same music.
Give your hearts, but not into each other's keeping.
For only the hand of Life can contain your hearts.
And stand together yet not too near together:
For the pillars of the temple stand apart,
And the oak tree and the cypress grow not in each other's shadow.0 -
Hi, there's some lovely readings there. I am a registrar and all I will say is that the registrars will thank you if you don't have 'On your wedding day'. When you've heard it 3 times in one day it grates just a little!!! It is a good wedding reading though.Fashion on a ration 0 of 660

We had:
Native American Indian Wedding Blessing
Now you shall feel no pain, for each of you shall be comfort for the other.
Now you shall feel no rain, for each of you shall be shelter for the other.
Now you shall feel no cold, for each of you shall be warmth for the other.
Now there is no more loneliness.
You are two persons, but there is only one life before you.
May your life together be good and long upon the earth.
There are a couple of similar versions.0 -

Wedding Day
The day of your wedding
Is a time to reflect
On the things you can hope for
And the things to expect
You could hope for great riches
Huge bundles of cash
But then lose it all
In a Stock Market crash
Or you could hope for
A life of great ease
With the time and the money
To do as you please
But it's better to hope for
The good things in life
Like a long happy life
As husband and wife
Like the smile and the kiss
As you walk through the door
And the baby that wakes you
At a quarter to four
And a life of variety
With sunshine and rain
And Frosties for breakfast
Instead of champagne
Expect times of anger
The occasional huff
Because no one annoyes you
Like the on that you love
But don't look for problems
That the future may bring
Just to love and be loved is a wonderful thing
Lifes not all plain sailing
Not always a ball
But I know you'll be happy
Because love conquers all0 -
Such lovely readings, I have a tear in my eye here! We will be having religious readings, but I might take one or several of these and write them for OH to read the night before our wedding. Thanks, keep them coming
