wheter or not the littl'un did the bidding is irrelevent. the OP wanted a bit of advice, not to be chastised.

i too find it hard to believe that a two year old could do it, but stranger things have happened.

George W Bush became president of the USA for example!!!

LOL, it's called being honest...a 2 year olds hand barely fits over a mouse let alone them being intelligent enough to make 3 seperate bids of exactly 5 grand!! I think the OP's original question was "how do i retract a bid" but then they thought no, that will make me look thick, so i'll fabricate this story. Shame it backfired ;)

Yeah, when that story hit, the pink car had just been relisted... hmmm!

    Great publicity for the listing!

Never saw that part of the story!

But as a parent of a 7 and 3 year old, i would be shocked if my 7 year old managed it three times, never mind the three year old!

  • My cousin's son did a similar thing, but he was 9. he was looking at computer cd-rom games, and asked if he could have one. It was couple of quid at the time. His mother said yes and she would be in to bid on it, but he couldn't wait and went ahead and put what he thought was a £10 bid on it. My cousin came over and looked and was rather shocked when she saw he had actually bid £1000.
Luckily for her it only went up to £15 , I suppose other bidders got fed up trying to outbid that one !!! :)

  • well I'm glad I provided the entertainment for your evening, I am disappointed at the some of the posts though, what happened was genuine (I can't see any other way it happened unless someone had managed to hijack my account which is why I have changed my details). why any one would think I would make it up is beyond me , I honestly have better things to do with my life. won't bother looking for help on here again, infact I'll ask my 2yr old ,probably get more help

True or not! I enjoyed it. And it didn't do anyone any harm. In fact, from all the posting, others must have enjoyed enough to spend time making comments.

Think most of us are amazed at the (alleged) capabilities of a 2yr old. Who knows, maybe she's related to Marilyn vos Savant!!!

  • Maybe the kid clicked on someones Ebay shop, so there were several listings grouped together?

you would still have to click on place bid...enter amount £5000 in the box, press continue, press confirm bid.....for 3 auctions....for a 2yr old thats some mean feat....;) :T

I think some people under estimate children, my 1 year old can send emails, text messages and has even posted on here a few times  all while ranting down his toy phone.

That boy is going to be a ruthless boss some day  :rotfl:

OP, I am glad you got it sorted.
