  • Last time i didnt have time to change into the carefully planned outfit of an old nightie to give birth in! Stayed in my tshirt lol. Have literally just tonight put in an old nightie for labour/giving birth into my bag. No point buying a new one, not like i`m going to want to bring it home to wash it if its covered in yuck! Altho my friend did take hers home with each baby, and what she wore is in their baby boxes! Washed of course! x

Yeah I've been told you just want to bin everything Emmy, which is why I'm planning on a Primark job. I don't even own any nightys that I could take, I have a longish baggy tshirt though, maybe I could just take that? Hmm.

Re the merconium poo:eek: on the antenatal video said a tip to clean it off baby is use alternating wet and dry cotton wool. Think that Vaseline on their bum in preparation for the big poop event  may make it easier to get off so looking forward to the smell uggggh!!!!!

Ooh I must say, even though they're in my bad books at the moment, just opened my crib sheets from M&P and they feel absolutely beautiful, they're so soft and lovely, I'd love to sleep on them.

They're the same price as Mothercare (but they do 3for2 rather than Mothercares BOGO1/2price) but they feel amazing, will have a feel at the Mothercare ones my MIL has bought tomorrow and will report back, but I wish I'd bought more of these now, they're lovely.

To be honest ladies I'm not convinced the RLT caused her prem baby but she is. I told the MW at 34 weeks I had the stuff in and she went mad. Who knows. All I know is that I took it (in capsule form) and my labour was like this:

    8pm waters broke, no contractions

10pm went to hosp to be checked after waters had gone and I think mild contractions started. Went back home.

12am-2am contractions were more obvious but fine. I used a tens and took 2 paracetamol.

3am things getting painful so went to hosp.

3.30am got checked, baby was crowning so laid down, pushed, sucked gas and air twice and there he was at 03.58.

He was my first and all the hosp staff were surprised how quick and relatively pain free it was.

My friend took RL capsules for 2 or 3 days and went into labour at 35 weeks. There was no other obvious reason for it.

thanks for this :) I think I'll continue to take them, but won't up the dosage until 36 weeks. My bubs is measuring a big boy anyway, so I'm sure if I went early he'd be fine! I was born at 35 weeks and was fine, my lungs were fully developed etc :) xx

  • I must admit, the labour I had when i did take the tea, was.... 6.30pm 1st contraction, 7pm, 2nd, every 30 mins til 9.00pm, then every 15 mins til 10pm, then every 3 mins until my waters burst in the car on the way to hosp at 11pm! The they were constant, was fully dilated on examination at 11.20pm. Was told to push, however I refused until midnight ( didnt want baby being on that date as was my "now ex" sis in laws birthday!) started pushing at 12am, had baby at 12.07am! I was still able to talk thru every contraction up until the ones that came every 3 mins haha! so really, only 2 hours in active labour?! x

What a great reason to take them! These sorts of stories make me happy, compared to "80 hour long labours"

  • I`ve just read its not advisable to take it if u have had previous labours lasting less than 3 hours!!!
Just looking up accupuncture to bring labour on, worth a shot if i`m overdue?? xx
