Well im back from the midwife - membrane sweep was horrible!!!!! I knew it was going to be uncomfortable but MY GOD! It was like she was mixing a cake! I was shaking and crying when i came out bloody hell! Much better now.

On plus side, ive had a show during sweep and had a little more afterwards - cervix is 1cm though still quite long (!!!!!!?!) though midwife says i should have bambino with 24 - 48 hours after i quote "I've gave you a really good sweep there" You're telling me!!!! Took some paracetamol as ive had quite bad cramps since i came out of there = looks like bambino is coming along :D:D:D

must say though baby kicked and punched liek mad during and after sweep - she didnt like it either!!!

going to have a nice bath and eat some well deserved choccy x

Elmo - sorry you found your sweep so awful - mine was just uncomfortable. My midwife found I was 1cm too but didn't make me any promises on when baby would arrive, instead just booked me for induction in case.

Hope the sweep works for you - sounds more successful than mine - I barely had anything happen straight afterwards.

Last night I was up on the loo peeing most of the night - I have some pink show and I've had bump and back aches on and off (with random tightenings again). Thinking baby may be making his way to the exit - hope so!

I keep going between stiff and mobile randomly- last night and the night before DH had to pretty much be there if I needed to move at all (the wisdom of buying a lowslung sofa with no arms- can't get out of the thing!), and had to help me up. Stairs were awful- a nice crunchy pain unless I shuffled up slowly.
In comparison this morning, I feel like I could leap like a gazelle! Well, a very heavy, grumpy severe lack of coffee'd gazelle.

Lovecrafting- you shouldn't be on here at all today, but if you are, best wishes for the marriage and I hope you have a long and happy time together.

Lirin - the difference between the days is remarkable isn't it! My midwife said on the more moveable days baby's head is stablising the pelvis so maybe Hitch is getting comfy? My movement is much better these past few days so I'm hoping that means he's engaged!

I'm feeling very motivated this morning, have already climbed a step ladder and pulled all the curtains down for the wash, put yesterday's washing away, done the washing up, emptied the bins and swept the floors! Just having five minutes with a coffee and the lappy and then its bed stripping and remaking, kitchen and bathroom cleaning! Think I *may* be nesting lol!

Hope everyone is well and pain free - labour vibes to the boldies and anyone else who wants them

Morning all! Am 35 weeks today. Now the time slows and the worry creeps in about baby's health, the birth etc! My bump has dropped so much. I think it's more to do with baby's size and my stomach muscles rather than him getting into position lol!!

Morning all, good luck for today lovecrafting, hope everything goes swimmingly and you have a wonderful day!
Ref the B1G2F on wipes in morrisons, they wouldn't let us use more than one voucher per 3 packs when we tried, in fact the first time she would only let us use 1 voucher in the whole transaction as the silly woman couldn't understand the terms on the back of the voucher. We tried again and wanted to use 2 vouchers on 3 packs but were told as we were only "purchasing" 1 pack, we could only use one.
I'm hoping to convince the midwife to do a sweep this afternoon (I'm 39+3), going back for a bp check as it was high last week with a trace of protein in my urine sample. As I can only have appointments on Fridays if they won't do one today I'll be 40+3 next time so fingers crossed I get a nice midwife today!

slept OKish last night, but sciatica really playing up this morning, back is killing too not feeling all that good.

Not planning on doing much today, need to wait in for a few parcels, stuff for OH's new job and OH is going fishing so should have a nice peaceful day
