Ha ha, I'll be floundering around in the dark panicking about how to look after a baby :eek:Alex Reid and girlfriend Chantelle have just announced pregnancy. Bet KP is fuming LOL:eek:
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: That made me chuckle!
I just got home and took my socks off, I have big grooves in my legs where they have been digging in and now the area is all itchy because of the blood rushMight have to resort to trainer socks which are bliddy annoying as they always slide under my feet :mad:

Well, consultants appointment went well!
The "thing" downbelow has disappeared on cue for the doc, so there was nothing for her to see (it was there last night!). She said its most likely a varicus vein and not to worry, they come and go and it will squash out of the way during labour.
I was still measuring 5cm under my weeks (have been since 24weeks) so she sent me to the scan ladies next door. I have a very small bump and most people are shocked when i say i only have 5 weeks to go but guess what, baby is measuring above average on all charts, loads of fluid around and weighing in a 6.5lbs! Dont know where its hiding in there, apparently small bump must be due to exceptional stomach muscles holding it all in! So im now prepping myself for a 9lb birthweight!
Appointment itself was a bit of a palava. I had a MW appointment last week and another booked in for next week. Was told this was just a visit to the consultant to see about the thing. Arrive this morning and there i am being given a full antenatal check before seeing the consultant and being bollocked for not bringing a sample in with me!:jProud mummy to a beautiful baby girl born 22/12/11 :j0 -

Same thing happened to me at my last consultants visit- was meant to just be growth scan and consultant, and ended up doing wee sample, blood pressure, and chat with m/w as well. I think its just so the consultants have a full picture when they speak to you, in case there is something new they should know.Married 13/03/10 #1 DD born 13/01/12!!

Thanks for your advice on my mum hon. I'm really starting to think you are right. Dog or no dog, i'm really not going to manage much, and she will feel guilty and try to do stuff for me, when she should be resting herself. And if i do go early, then she is going to be in no fit state to be my birth partner with DH 5 hours away, and i am NOT doing it alone!
Not sure quite what bean is up to, but for the last few days i keep getting really strong bangs on what feels like my foof, and today quite sharp pains there. I can feel her little hands either side low down by my pubic bond as well..
No problem. It's just hard to judge 2-3 weeks away when you're pregnant. 2-3 weeks ago, I could have went out for the day and not felt too bad. A 20-min walk round Asda with DH there now has left me painful (fairly constant, tbh), and so tired I'm going to nap after dinner. Yet I can do the same tomorrow and feel absolutely fine.
Also, good point about going early- if that happened, you'd be a detriment to your mum possibly, rather than a help, as she would be trying to help you when she isn't fit to.
I think it may be a lot to take on.0 -
Re the GTT,do I need to take a urine sample?? Thanks in advance:)
Hi Lucy
I've just had mine at Kingston on Thursday. I didn't need urine sample. They just did a blood test, gave me a bottle of lucazade to drink within 10min, then had another blood test 2hrs later. Had my results from midwife the next day. All clearDFD February 2012

Just cooked thee biggest fry up ever for dinner. Stuffed now and feel sleepy, tempted to go to bed soon and get a rest, as barely slept last night due to the bladder issues. But it's depressing going to bed at half 7.
Huge hugs to everyone with sore bits. That sounds delightful :rotfl:The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -
