I would say what I eat determines how tired I am, I've been trying to eat things like porridge for breakfast, tuna pasta (with wholewheat pasta) for lunch and a balanced dinner maybe chicken and sweet potatoes and veg or something, and limiting my sugar intake seems to keep me awake longer, or keep me going longer, not sure which :p

I have 71 working days left! Really feel like I shouldn't even be counting them yet as there's soo many left! 3 more days this week, 13 full weeks (apart from the odd midwife appointment/antenatal thing etc) then 3 days between Christmas and New Year and I'm done!

Ooh our cot bed arrived this evening, can't wait to put it up! Is it too soon now...?

If you've got the time and the room to keep it built, why not Annabella, you'l only run out of time later on :p

    and energy...
  • I ended up sleeping most of the morning and the afternoon has been a mixture of a bit of tv and getting some random stuff done. Managed to clear away the camping stuff from the weekend, hoover upstairs and finish off a bit of painting in DS' room that has been half done for over 4 years! Just need to find a bit of filler to sort out some holes in the nursery wall then I can start painting it. Will feel like I'm getting somewhere then!

Might be a job for tomorrow... Have just had dinner and building a cot bed isn't high on my priority list right now! Still got a couple of boxes to sort to clear the room out anyway so can't get ahead of myself!

Oh, plus we actually need to decorate the nursery... Probably should do that before we start building furniture! Maybe decorating is a job for the weekend, cot can be built next week! :rotfl:

that's what the men are for ;) I use "I'm tired" for everything under the sun. Even when I'm just being lazy. I'm currently trying to get my OH out of the house for a night out so I can lay back on the couch, watch the Great British Bake Off and eat 4 Cupcakes all to myself. I will probably be sick...

Oh crap! This could be an interesting winter ladies. Was just reading a news article online, which said we should expect a freezing winter, similar or worse to last year! Starting as early as October, and all the way through into Dec/Jan, with temps below zero, and lots of ice and snow.

Me thinks i might have to find some "how to deliver your baby at home by yourselves with no medical assistance" guides for DH to read! Last year our road was inpassable by vehicle due to snow and black ice, as the council wouldnt grit it as we dont have a school, bus route or Old peoples home on it! F all chance of a midwife making it to us by car, and even less of DH managing to drive me the 28 miles to the hospital! Just checking out the grit and salt providers online to see if i can get DH to stock up on some early to help us out of the drive and down the road!

  • Great news Kira! I was a bit worried about that, as I'm due on 9th Dec which was exactly the time last year when there was loads of snow and schools etc were closed. Luckily I'm only a 5 min drive from hospital so should be able to manage, but it's an extra worry you don't really need when everything is kicking off!
