I'm glad I'm not the only one.
In my case I was changed to that date at the scan, so it isn't like I had any control over it at all.
My doc was telling me one of his arrived on Xmas eve, and I have a friend who had one on Boxing Day. I'm assuming I'll go over anyway, but who knows?

My due date is a week before Christmas and someone said to me if i am LUCKY she will be a week late and i will get a Christmas baby???? HOW IS THAT LUCKY!!?????
I very sarcastically said " oh yeah that would be great then my 9 year old daughter would have an amazing Christmas with her mummy (who she lives with full time as her daddy hardly sees her) in hospital she would get to spend the day with..... umm i really dont know who! That would be lucky!"
It shut her up!
I have been cleaning very random things today! so far done dishes, washing etc, cleaned the outside tables and chairs??? and the windows??? ummm very odd:j Proud mum to Jade age 10 years and Baby Ellie born Christmas Day:eek: with a broke heartProven to be a little fighter and battling on with her heart condition :j

Jen, you are not the only one!
Our antenatal class yesterday seems to have sparked me off doing random baby things today. Got DH to fetch our pushchair down from the spare room, where it has been in its box since we got it, so we could fit it together, and try it with the pram top, and then try and fit it in my car. Good news, all works, and fits in the car fine.
Then i fitted the liner and headhhugger to the pushchair seat which we have now taken off and put into a storage box till bean is big enough. Then fitted a sheet to the pram mattress, and packed up all the baby blankets and baby towels and sheets i finished washing and drying. I've got loads more than i realised!
Now v hungry, and waiting for the slow cooked lamb to finish...Married 13/03/10 #1 DD born 13/01/12!!

I'm due on the 11th and really really do not want to go past my due date. I was horrified when hospital said they would let me go the full 14 days over before inducing me. Everyone keeps saying 'Oooh how lovely you could have a Christmas Day baby!' Errrrmmm ... no it's not. Speaking as a Boxing Day baby it is a carp time of year to have a birthday as people are too busy visiting relatives to come to your birthday parties, people moan that they have enough to buy with Christmas without buying birthday presents as well, people moan that they can't find birthday cards in the shops or they just forget to get you one, people wrap your birthday presents in Christmas paper, and people buy you joint birthday and Christmas presents .... and you have to wait a whole year to get any more presents. I always said I didn't want a December baby and we nearly didn't bother DTD at ov time that month, but as my OH said at the time, we could have conceived the following month and ended up with a an early baby. However, when all is said and done, I am just happy to be having a baby after trying for so long. I'd still prefer that s/he was a couple of weeks early though0

This is why im so grateful that my consultant has agreed to induce my early due to pregnancy diabeties. Im due on the 21st December, so just co-ordinating dates with my mum at the moment so when i go to my next apt with the consultant I can get a date. I know baby might not arrive on the day, but its a heck of a more pleasing alternative than going overdue thinking is today going to be the day.0

Yes, very strange! I've just listened to the 32week+ hospital birth prep CD from the hypnotherapy set for the first time. Very relaxing. Now i have the urge to go and clean all the mirrors and windows in the house- and there are quite alot of mirrors!Married 13/03/10 #1 DD born 13/01/12!!

Not sure how i feel about things today. The midwife who led the class yesterday works at the hospital, and confirmed a few things about the hospital policies that they dont make clear when choosing. They are UBER pro breastfeeding, so much so, that she wasnt allowed to talk about bottle feeding in the class. That doesnt bother me, as i am planning to Breastfeed anyway, and its good to know they have alot of b/f support available on the postnatal ward, and they wont discharge you till you are happy about feeding.
BUT what i also didnt know, is they are very strongly against C/section unless absolutely absolutely necessary. So much so that if they do a C, there is an internal investigation afterwards to see why it was done, and confirm it was unavoidable. Obv, they will do them if there is an urgent medical need or medical condition that needs an ontime arrival, but otherwise, not so.
I don't mind my due date, but would prefer to avoid New Years day, and would like it if bean came in 2011 not 2012, and would LOVE to have the bean arrive a few days early on your EDD, Seafarer's Wife. The 21st Dec was the wedding anniversary of both of my sets of grandparents, as well as my grandpa's birthday, so would be pretty special.
I have to hope that my hypnotherapy CD's and the midwife are right, that we make ourselves not go into labour by being too scared of the process which holds everything up. So, lots of relaxation, and looking forward to labour for me, and see if that works at getting beanie out quickly!
On the plus side, i was pretty sure of my OV date, and our EDD hasnt moved a day since my first appointment, so i doubt we have our dates wrong!Married 13/03/10 #1 DD born 13/01/12!!
