  • lol yeah tying it in your hair could be an issue, i supose its the joys of having three girls already. i always have a bobble on my wrist, tissue in my pocket and baby wipes in my handbag lol.

i was thinking last night about baby wipes. before you have kids you dont think of them or use them for make up. but after your first baby they seem to be one of those home essentials, they get rid of crayon on walls, help alot with omg mother in law is at the door and the kids are covered in chocolate or sticky hand syndrome. madness really i must buy one packet every 2 weeks or so.
  • kimmy its a good idea to put socks under the baygrow because there feet can get really cold. but you might give up on them after surfing round the babygrow to look for stray socks etc, all babies are different, some wriggle them off.

Is anyone using a breast feeding bracelet? I know last time I was naughty and didnt alternate as much as i should (was easier for DD to latch on to the right than the left!)

I bought a "Count the Kicks" bracelet/wristband and it has a L & R on it so you can continue to use it after baby is born.

Morning ladies, up nice and early this morning and all organised, about to head into town to pay off our pram :D and get some bits and bobs I need, why is it you run out of shampoo, conditioner, body lotion all at the one time? The fairies are stealing again.

Mamas and Papas emailed me through the voucher, so may take that in and have a look at what they have. They did have a cheap bouncer on offer about £20/£25 was tempted to buy it and keep it at MIL's but not sure if it's a waste of money or not?

  • I just wanted to have a quick rant about other pregnancy forums, Maybe I'm just being a tad hormonal and will get annoyed over the other thing but if I see another thread entitled '8 weeks scan with potty shot, gender guesses please xxxxxxxx' or 'gender guess for my 4 cell embryo please xxxx' i will scream

Ok slight elaboration on the titles but i use babyandbump and thats all there is in the 2 tri forum apart from some 'OMG i just ate some Feta, will I die?'

    rant over.

Actually it seems to have calmed down over the weekend.

Which is why I like here Raven- so many other forums have dedicated threads to particular problems, and it takes ages working through them. On here, I can post a question and someone's along shortly who maybe has an inkling! Plus, sometimes you don't know you have a problem- I wouldn't have known about SPD as early, as no-one told me, and although my care teams are great, they're never terribly forthcoming with info....

I have the bandage the Physio gave me on- the support belt I have hurts now when I wear it. It's to keep my pelvis tighter together and stop moving as much- seems to be working a little.... Time will tell, I guess. At any rate, it's making some of the non-bump parts of me slightly slimmer. :)
I'm in extreme danger of falling asleep though, I'm honestly fighting hard to stay awake!
  • Monitors - I got a basic Tomy one for £10 from Ebay, don't like or need anything more.
Clothes - Eventually got the wardrobe into her room yesterday and put all the clothes in that we had (things that hang, not sleepsuits etc) and I'm not going to have to buy anything for about a year, it's ridiculous! I think I bought about 15 things and spent about £15, everything else has been given to or bought for us.
Mamas and Papas voucher - Applied for one last week but never got an email, so tried again today. Was planning to use it for a moses basket mattress, was £16 and sure I can find something for £4 to bump it up.
Don't think I used anything to tell me which boob I had fed from last time; mostly it was easy enough to tell which was the full one! Some people just have a safety pin on their bra which they move over. A hair bobble type thing would work, can't imagine spending any money on anything to tell me though.

Got a day of not very much today, got up about 10.15 and actually managed a 6 hour stint without waking up to drink/turn over which is amazing! Got the carpet man coming this afternoon, then bf coming over to put up DS' new wardrobe once the carpet is down. Upstairs currently looks like a bomb site whilst everything is getting sorted, looking forward to some normality.

  • ready to strangle my not so DH! he has decided in his infinite wisdom that the babys room needs painting and is peed off that I dont have any old blankets or sheets to put down to protect the carpet. Well you muppet, the whole point of painting the babys room before you went to sea was so it didnt need doing NOW. and FYI if you had done it properly the first time round it wouldnt need painting again now would it!

Oh and it gets better, he isnt planning on moving any of the baby stuff out the room, he is just going to paint round it! im letting the effer get on with it and he can buy new everything when its ruined!

    Hi Ladies,

Just checking in, I've not been on all weekend so loads and loads to read back!

I have this morning been signed off work until I have the baby, this sounded quite nice in theory until he said I need to rest and do nothing strenuous! I am a clean freak and he said no hoovering or lifting or walking my 3 dogs - not sure how I'll manage but I will!

I'm off to the hospital now for my twice weekly blood pressure, urine and blood checks - I'm going to have no blood left at this rate!

I have been good this weekend though and spent it resting, eating and drinking. I haven't googled any of my problems either so doing well!

I'm determined to keep a positive mental attitude as I do believe it helps. I have also felt baby move a lot over the weekend which is a good sign.

Will come back later to read and catch-up, I'm sure there is lots of news and babies being born that I need to catch up on!
