Micro nappies - might be too small for most babies though, and who would need 144 of them ?

Great buy for anyone that really does have a tiny baby though :)

someone did say they delivered all there babies early and very prem but i cant remember who it was! baby brain

Thanks a lot Claire, done as it said, so should have my voucher arriving soon. I'm sure Lirin would be up for a meet up, we can organise something xx

Well i have just gone through the boxes and bags of second hand baby stuff ive got (all neutral basics). Here's what there is -

    Tiny baby (says upto 7.5lbs).
Jacket, Trousers, baby grow, vest and hat
    (1 of each)

    Newborn (says upto 9-10lbs)
    11 vests
    8 baby grows with feet
    hat
    snowsuit

    0-3 months (says upto 12-14lbs)

    3 trousers
    1 jacket
    2 tops
    26 vests
    10 babygrows with feet
    4 hats
    1 snowsuit

    Assorted stuff / one size

    2 pairs of slippers/booties
    3 hats
    7 pairs scratchmits
    5 pairs socks
    1 swaddling blanket
    1 sleepng bag 1 tog
    2 bibs

I havent bought any outfits because nearly everything ive seen is pink or blue and we're team yellow (plus i think people will buy us things anyway if previous family babies are anything to go by).

I think we've got enough stuff to be getting on with but does anyone see anything glaringly obvious thats missing?

And how many blankets, muslin cloths, crib sheets should i buy?

Oh and what about toiletries? Talc and stuff, what should i get in advance?

I would get at least 3 sets of bedding, (one clean, one dirty and one in the wash). Blankets maybe a bit more reusable. If my sister wasn't giving me her hand-me-downs, I would be buying kingsized terry sheets and cut them down to hem them, as baby bedding seems expensive even for plain stuff, but then I like to sew.

I've got a bunch of baby towels on my list, and my sister bought me a dressing gown/terry robe thing, which I probably would not have bothered with, but it does look cute.

I was going to start with 6 muslin cloths and get more if I needed them, but that has more to do with the pack size of the ones I like, I think about 10 might be better (for me).

I'm not sure about toiletries, as I'm allergic to everything, so baby might be sensitive, I was just going to try talc, apricot oil for massages and moisturising, and some sort of baby body wash. I'm not sure I will bother with shampoo as I've been reading about them not needing it. Well, I will give it a go anyway...

I think your list looks good, it is hard to say if you will need more or less, as I think it will depend on how often you plan on doing a baby wash/ tumble dry.

It is so hard to plan for a little one, when you have no idea what they will be like!

  • Oh I can't sleep as all my organs still feel crushed and sore :( I tried sitting on my ball lots last night in the hope that baby would move down but no joy.

OH is sleeping on the mattress out of our campervan on the bedroom floor to give me more space in bed, and hopefully he will get more sleep instead of being woken up every time the hippo turns over. Although he wakes still up every time I go to the loo and asks if I am ok. It's weird being in bed without him although it makes rolling over much easier.

what did the people that got the £10 mamas and papas voucher buy? you have to spend £20 to use the £10 voucher. i dont know what to get

I haven't spent mine yet, I'm going to go to the shop in a couple of weeks as there is a 30 day limit on it.

I'm back to work again today Jen aswell. I've got 3 weeks left, or 11 working days due to taking holidays. I don't really want to go as we are all at risk of redundancy and I don't want to think about it, I just want to bury my head in the sand and live in a pregnancy bubble :(

For some reason in the past couple of days I seem to have got it into my head that I am 36 weeks instead of 34, when people ask me I keep saying 36 weeks, so it is going to be a long fortnight until I reach that point

Definitely would be! I've done nothing for the last week but seemingly stare at the ceiling, and I'm getting major cabin fever now.

I can't seem to sleep more than an hour or so here or there. Was at my parents last night, and was falling asleep in the car- DH kept trying to keep me awake, so when I got home I'd sleep. As soon as I walked through the door, knew that wasn't happening.

Have deep heat on my back- was told it's ok as long as none is near bump- as my back has been so sore, and general pain and discomfort everywhere else.If I walk anywhere, I'm lurching, up on toes on my right side as it hurts to walk with my foot flat.Though I have a suspicion that's doing damage as well.

Work soon, should start getting ready. Though Nice and I chatted on Thurs, I really could do with not going in. Just don't want any more arguments. I know when I'm off on mat, it's unlikely any of the guys would keep in touch, and I don't think there will be much of a reaction when I leave- it'll most likely be 'Right, see you around!' lol :rotfl:

WW, I've done that a couple of times now- I'm putting it down to emails I'm receiving from various baby clubs, and even though I put the correct due dates in all of them, some are a fortnight ahead in the count? That'smy excuse anyway. I'm 34+4, but I was 33 weeks for almost three weeks!:rotfl:

Hope everyone has a good day!
  • Hi ladies, I've just woke up - feel sick again (is this normal? I didn't have morning sickness with DD!) Just laying in bed with DD, have 2 appointments today - first is with nurse for bloods and flu jab, second appointment is for bump growth with midwife. DD is asking if the baby is coming out today lol she's counting down the weeks, not sure if she's doing it so she sees the baby or because Santa is coming lol

    32 weeks today

Monitors - OH got us the angel care one - personally neither of us rate it that much. I don't like the technology (prefer simple!) And you can't use a cot mobile with it. Display isn't too clear either, have to angle it. OH (who is a complete technology geek) isn't impressed but hasn't said why. I'll get used to it, but think its wasted money tbh!
