  • Hi all, not had time to look back over the last 10 pages!

Been to the baby show today and had a great time. Got lots of freebies, samples and great deals!
Biggest buy of the day was re-usuable nappies! After several demonstrations by different companies I was happy to go ahead with buying some and am now very happy :-)

Next biggest buy was a BabaSling which my DH was very eager to buy so that made me happy too :D

Absolutely knackered now though, but well worth it!

im here jenjade, ive got heart burn and keep wistfully wishing this baby will come out soon, I've just had enough of not being able to drive, of being lonely and OH being away all the time. I just want baby here and OH here and to get a little bit of my life back again.

Just watched fresh meat does really make me laugh, theres a film on in a bit but i dont know if i can be bothered to watch it, OH hasn't got email now so I cant talk ot him, bit lonesome actually.

glad you had a lovely day cloudberry

Wow Pip has been wriggling around *all* day! I really can't remember any point today when I thought 'hmmm, haven't felt any movement for a while...'. Not complaining though, I just wasn't expecting it!

Glad to hear you had a good day at the baby show, cloudberry. What nappies have you gone for? I'm going to see a woman who works as a 'nappy advisor' next week, she's used reusables on both her children and now offers this service (advisory bit is free, then she gets commission on sales when people order nappies through her). Am looking forward to getting a bit more hands-on with all the different types and working out what's what...

  • We have gone with the bambino mio I think they are called. They had a great offer at the show and they were our favourites as you do not need to use liners for them if you dont want to as they are super absorbent yet keeps babys bum dry. These are the newer style they do - but cant say I knew much about them before I went anyway.

Some of the ones we saw I just did not like at all but its all personal preference. Very fun coming home and going through all the bags and remembering all the free stuff we had got :)

i do like being on my own but for the past 2 and a half months hes been home for ten days, so i really miss him and not being able drive very far i haven't been able to just call round my dads when ever i get lonely, my mother and mil have offered to pop round but they just wind me up, i prefer to go out than stay in. so feel a bit stir crazy at the moment and a bit sick of my own company.

i feel sick and a bit dizzy. baby is pressing her head into my pelvis and it hurts

I think i am going to be in a tricky position with my sister who is due a few months after me and seems to have assumed i will be handing her all the clothes etc. she phoned today and said she has bought 2 packet of newborn nappies coz she may aswell see what i have left over before she buys some. I didnt have the heart to say i wont have any left over is baby grows out of them i will swap any unopened for larger sizes. I can afford to give her everything although i would love to. i was planning on ebaying everything as soon as baby grows out of it

how is it best to handle that one?

its a hard one hun, i think its wrong of her to assume to be honest, i would just say money is tight so you're going to have to put things on ebay. or she could give you some money for them if she wants, 2 months isnt a big gap so there might not be much to pass down......

On the nappy front, maybe say you don't think you'll have much over, as you've been working out how many of each size to buy based on what your daughter used? The big stuff you can still be using hopefully, but no idea with the clothes? Unless a lot of them get 'ruined'?

All the talk about change bags earlier got me thinking, so i got out the wallaboo change bag i bought a few months ago. Now i'm thinking about what i need to put in it. I know its still quite early, but i'd prefer to get sorted now, as i reckon i'll have other things on my mind nearer the time and when bean arrives! It comes with a change mat, and a wet bag already for ikky stuff.
I figure that i'll also need the following:

3-4 nappies ('sposies to start with, reusables with liners later on).
My travel bag of clean wipes and mucky wipe bag for dirties
Mini pot of sudacreme from the bounty pack
A muslin or two for spills, cover up when b/f etc
A couple of spare babygro's in case of accidents
A few spare maternity pads, and likewise breast pads
A baby hat- in case of being stuck out in unexpected sun/cold
A rolled up spare vest top for me in case of accidents.
A few granola bags or mini bags of trail mix etc for me

    Anyone think of anything else?
