And there in 2 short posts is what is wrong with forums, no facial expressions or inflections in voice. And I was only having a chuckle about all those people who bang on about the premium companies who are perfect and never lose anything or give bad service etcThe common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -
I was just about to post a similar query about how much compensation people have received. My bag was lost by BA from Heathrow-Berlin on the 12th of August and we are in the process of sending detailed lists of what was in the bag - £430 worth of stuff according to what I remember. I say 'what I can remember' as I packed for my year abroad so some of the things I think could still be in London might have been in the bag :-(. I hope I get all of this money, although I would much much rather have my confirmation bible and other sentimental items returned to me. Good luck OP.0

Ahhh well we are'nt after compensation i'm more concerned that between the airline and insurance company that she wont end up with the means to replace the items lostLive each day like its your last because one day you'll be right0 -
Hope all goes well with it.
We flew home yesterday and lost a bag at Philadelphia. They told us it is at Philadelphia, so they will put it on the next flight. One of our other bags had the tag completely loose and just slightly clinging to the handle. My husband commented 'oh we were lucky to get that then', and then his never came round. There were 3 on the flight at least with no bags. Has only happened to us once when we almost missed a connection - we had 2 hours plus a delay of an hour and a half I think, so I just wonder why it never made it.
Hopefully it will arrive this morning on the next flight.

By 'compensation' I meant how much BA would give me to replace my £430 worth of things which they have lost permanently, not compensation for the inconvenience of phone calls, emails, train fares to look for the bag and wasted time (would be nice, but not at all expected).
Good luck lesley74.0 -

I was waiting on their reply - they respond to things incredibly slowly. They have said they will give me £211, and I'm not really sure where to go from here. Chalking up £200 to experience is rather expensive. I'd still rather have my stuff though :-(0
