So apart from being too expensive and offering lousy support you can recommend them then?

If you read what I wrote through the mists of your prejudice you will see that I wasn't recommending them rather I was pointing out the good and bad.

  • I like BT so far no problems a different world from my days with tiscali, if you can stay away from their india call centres that is.
  • Thanks very much for all your replies. At least some of you are happy(ish) with them.

Although my Orange connection rarely drops, it has had a few issues over the years and the BT call centres surely can't be any worse than Orange's Indian call centres? They're pretty terrible IMO.

I set my elderly Mother up with a BB account with Namesco because I knew she wouldn't be able to understand non-UK support. Their call centre has so far been a god-send, very helpful and efficient. Bit too dear for me though.

I've been with BT Broadband for a few years now. Not intending on switching as we haven't had any problems, and with 3 laptops, 2 desktops, and numerous wi-fi kids stuff, it's a good thing!

All ISPs use exactly the same phone line. BT (the ISP) can claim no credit or for that matter be blamed for a poor quality phone line leading to unstable ADSL.

I can't honestly say that I understand what you have just said, all I can say is that we have BT now and are having a very good service whereas we had lots of problems with talk talk and sky.

I've been with BT for a good few years and have had an excellent service which has as far as I remember only dropped out 2/3 times in years... my connection is fast and steady. As others have said its overpriced but I'm prepared to pay a little over the odds for such a good connection. My daughter has had nothing but trouble with Virgin and Talktalk..

We switched to BT, thinking we were getting phone and internet for £15 a month. Turns out to be about £30 after you read it carefully. Also, we've had it 2 months and have had periods of time without both phone and internet. Seems ok now though.

I'm not sure what prejudice you mean. I summarised your post into too expensive and poor support which is what it seemed to me is what you posted so I was seeking a clarification. I can't comment on BT myself as I've never used them as an ISP.

    :)

I've been with BT since 2002. Always been fair & recieved good service & also we get a cheap yearly deal.

Only recently have we had a problem as we got charged £5 for going over the 10GB monthly allowance.
But have now discovered the Usage Allowance Monitor on 'My BT' & have kept a diary of our daily usage. Very useful as we can now see when we have a 'heavy' day.
Argos website uses loads... (and Bubble Shooter..)
At the moment (Day 22) we have reached 5.22 so well within our allowance

Maybe go mad on day 30 & play Bubble Shooter........lol
