If you're set on a 107, drive the deal are saying they can supply new for £5795 (plus £50 delivery)

As said - if you can stretch the budget slightly then a brand new 107 is the way to go. I don't think any dealers will have brand new old Picantos left but those were a bargain too
  • Thanks all, I definitely want to sell/part exchange it rather than MOT and keep it. It's been very reliable but I think it's now of an age where things are going to start getting expensive and I'm attracted to the low tax/better fuel economy of a new teeny car.

I really like the look of the Suzuki Alto as suggested by Going4theDream.... but if I can really get a brand new 107 for £5795, as suggested by fatbelly, then that seems a great deal!

The Suzuki Alto and Nissan Pixo are the same car AFAIK - might be able to get one of those cheaper?

Nasty little things though, feel really cheap inside. My Picanto isn't the most lavish of things but it feels well built

And there's a lot more remaining warranty on a 1-year old Kia than on a new Peugeot/Suzuki/Nissan

This is not true apparently - see below

True - I'd grude paying what they ask for a 1 year old Picanto knowing what I paid for a brand new one, though

No there isn't. If you read the small print you may find it isn't transferrable. It certainly says on the Kia adverts on TV that the 7 year warranty only applies to the first owner and isn't transferrable so once its sold by the first owner the warranty dies.

Sorry, just assumed it worked like other warranties.

The Kia 7 year warranty transfers to subsequent owners automatically.

Aaaaargh! Everytime I think I have settled on what to get somebody makes me change my mind!

I have found a few (6) one year old Kia Picantos for less than 5k on autotrader. Cars registered after Jan 2010 have the 7 year warranty so for 5k I could get a one year old Picanto with 6 years warranty left or alternatively 5.8k would get me a brand new 107 but with only 3 years warranty.

    Decisions, decisions!
