and I am a BOS customer and I have been advised that the card will be visa Electron as the account is an easycash account not a cashcard account - Visa are only issued on new accounts

I think the best way forward would be just to order a new replacement card and see whats sent to you it will help clear up any doubt or confusion. As no one is going to no until you experiment and wait for the result.

Yeah, got the new card this morning and the numbers now begin 4844 32

I tired looking this up on the bank bin number list but its not recognised, so must be all new.

I'll report back if i have any problems using it in the shops.

It does look a better design than the Green coloured card
    I think.

    Sorry...

What i meant was if you get the Visa Debit Card and have this card with the Cash Card Account (Basic Bank Account) its limited to withdrawals from only HBOS ATM's

Just stumbled upon this thread by chance.

The Royal Bank of Scotland are also starting to limit Visa debit card transactions to RBS branded ATMs - for basic current account holders.

Can also be used at Post Offices I think.

They recently revised the status/criteria for current accounts for those customers who only use them for minimal business, like direct debits and standing orders only. They want people to use an RBS current accounts as their main "everyday" one.
