and I am a BOS customer and I have been advised that the card will be visa Electron as the account is an easycash account not a cashcard account - Visa are only issued on new accounts
I think the best way forward would be just to order a new replacement card and see whats sent to you it will help clear up any doubt or confusion. As no one is going to no until you experiment and wait for the result.Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0 -

That is one thing to bear in mind if anyone is thinking or able to change to the Visa Debit Card... You will only be able to withdraw cash from a Bank of Scotland ATM!!

Just stumbled upon this thread by chance.
The Royal Bank of Scotland are also starting to limit Visa debit card transactions to RBS branded ATMs - for basic current account holders.
Can also be used at Post Offices I think.
They recently revised the status/criteria for current accounts for those customers who only use them for minimal business, like direct debits and standing orders only. They want people to use an RBS current accounts as their main "everyday" one.0
