Well done Redrum!:T This is great offer. My family world wide travel insurance is £70 per year and I thought that was cheap! Only trouble is mine doesn't run out until end July. ;)

Good things come to those who wait......... but the best will be taken by those who got there first ;)

I guess this is goodbye then - the police, hand in hand with the FSA, will be coming to take me away soon....

    S'been nice knowing you all!

At risk of throwing in some more spanners can I point out that travel insurance policies (like all insurance) are NOT all the same. When you are buying these policies you really need to ensure that it provides the cover you need, and price should be a secondary consideration.

e.g. Does it cover you for winter sports, is the medical sum insured sufficient, does it cover your baggage properly, what are the single and valuable item limits, what is the cash (NOT money) cover, how long is the maximum trip limit etc...

It's a bit anal I know, but insurance is one of those products where the risk of getting it wrong is worth the time spent in choosing the right policy for you.

    Hello,

I cannot find anything about this offer on the egg website.

I have a egg savings account, but not an Egg card. I was thinking of signing up for one, but cannot find the travel insurance info.

Help !!! I need the family annual cover for April !!!

Me and my Wife already have free travel insurance with our A&L accounts, but it costs £50 to add the children on.

Look at the box on the RHS of your log in page.
If not then log out & look at the 6 or so boxes at the bottom ofthe page.

    Thank you.

I have now found it on the log-in page.

Wonder how quickly I could get an Egg card.

Prob best to ring them !!!

    Thanks again.

(Just been told that it takes about 2 weeks for an Egg card, and the insurance offer ends 31st March - sign up is quicker if you are already an egg customer for another product. Phoned them on 01332 395919 overseas number for free with my free weekend calls !!!)

As a single guy I saw a similar Egg offer at about the same time as I saw a FREE offer from Alliance & Leicester a while back.

To qualify for the free A&L offer you had to open a Premier Plus current account - this requires a comitment of £1000 a month income into the account. I have a standing order from another current account into this one. What's great about this current account is that I get 5.5% interest (up to £2500) even though I think the rate has been knocked down to 5%, but still great for a current account. Bear in mind that I think it's an internet account only.

I make sure that my balance never goes above £2500; anything above that goes into somewhere like Egg, for which you can get up to 5.5%.

Although the Egg offer was great for my particular circumstances the A&L offer was even better for me. Apart from being free it also is a fully Worldwide policy. It does not cover Winter Sports however that is not important to me.

If you want to cover the whole family it may not be so good as it's £48 extra; and similarly if you want it for Winter Sports.

Horses for courses I guess, but great for single people not wanting Winter Sports cover.

    Tony
