And where may I ask is the 'Discontinued' shelf in your local?:j0 -

I wonder if the 3 for 2 will still kick in!
Well, if the stickers are still on the items, it would be unlawful if it didn't
However, the discussion is then whether or not Mr T gives two hoots about operating within the realms of the Sale of Goods act or the Consumer Protection Act.

yes, this stock is marked 1p so that they can waste it without affecting the store budget, but still recording figures for ordering next year etc.
Some stock is often left out, but the objective is that it is removed from sale, and then destroyed.
I spent 2 hours recording 14 cages of decorations etc which hadn't even reached the shop floor last year. As soon as the price went down, the store manager told me to book it and chuck it. It ALL went down the compactor, and was thrown.
Such a shame, but company policy. It is obviously down to the manager how he wants to deal with it. some do let staff have it, for silly prices, which then goes to charity.0 -

stores have been told to display the following POS:
Discounted items are no longer subject to the 3 for 2 offer
however, i was in a store yesterday which hadn't! so yes, you could technically say this was an overcharge0 -

And then they say it's not fair to criticise them for not caring about environmental waste.Joe

yes i agree, plenty of recyclable items there. The amount of stuff we chuck in food is crazy too!speedyjoe wrote:And then they say it's not fair to criticise them for not caring about environmental waste.0 -
My boss (not Tesco) told me years ago, that if you sell things to cheaply or give them away, you undermine the market. This was at a wholesale fruit and veg market. Crates of stuff and boxes of flowers went in the skips, but my boss turned a blind eye when we fished it back out again. I had a lot of elderley neighbours and they were chuffed to bits with the freebies

Still 3 for 2 on reduced gifts today, but seeing as the three I bought were all under £1 I only got 48p off at the checkout
