Yeah but, is CRB not more specifically for working or coming into contact with children and other vulnerable people?0 -
Locksmiths dont need to be CRB checked, thats my point. Why would a locksmith need to be CRB checked
If you've got any sense, you will go with one that is. Also look for a shop or land-line phone number.
Think about who your letting into your house and what your asking him to do.0 -
But you'll never find a locksmith who is crb checked.0

It just seems odd for people to check a locksmith for a CRB. I would just check their ID and nothing more, same as if I was letting an electrician or a plumber in the house.0

Perxactly.
How would you Know if the locksmith/handyman/part-time whatever had another key and maybe gives it to his scumbag friend.
Happens all the time. Plus insurance dont want to pay out because of "No sign of forced entry".
It would be nice if locksmiths were Licensed but we're not.
Gas and Electric can kill you. A break-in may only ruin you.0 -
Why do you say that , have you tried ?
You obviously need to read up on crb's.
There are requirements that need to be met before a crb check can be done, about which members of the public need protecting from you.
Not many locksmiths will be left to care for the young or vulnerable, so don't fit the criteria.0
