We used to coil the knitting and make place mats and coasters. Could be good for christmas pressies.0

If you loop it a few time you can make a daisy-shape and add as a decoration on hats/jumpers. Add an interesting cuff to tops or gloves by looping around a number of times. It would make a nice hot water bottle cover as well.0

I can remember watching an old lady neighbour who was really into this and taught us kids to do it (easy to learn).
what she did was to make lengths of a couple of yards then take 3 or 5 or 7 lengths and plait them together. the number of thicknesses depended on how thick she wanted the final peice to be. then she used to stitch them together, joining in new lengths by plaiting them in. she started with a straight peice about a foot long and then sort of coiled the length around that stitching it in place. then just kept going until the work was the desired size. she made bath mats, hearth rugs etc and her work was very popular.0 -
This thread just caught my eye.
i was looking into this the other day and Argos have got the 'loom' thingies in a pack of four in different diameters.
Don't know if that helps anyone, might be useful for bed socks, draft excluders etc?Karma - the consequences of ones acts."It's OK to falter otherwise how will you know what success feels like?"1 debt v 100 days £20000 -

I have something similar, and you can make hats and scarves with it as well. Something a bit more useful.0
