log into the router, go to help > maintenance > firmware update for how-to.

which fw are you on at present ? you may not be able to "downgrade" to a retro version, but I woldn't have thought so......

    p.s. on my ps3, when I use v4.01 fw I get NAT failures, using v3.06 I get NAT type 2 :)

ok, got my older 3.06 on at present so can't check on the 4.01.

You should do a fw update whilst disconnected from the 'net anyway (i.e. not have the RJ11 plugged in to the phone line), and using ethernet to your pc. Is this what you mean ??? You can reboot the router from within the interface, towards the bottom of the menu down the left side of the screen.

Unzip the fw and when browsing to to it, select the file rather than the folder it's in.

e.g. you download and save the .zip folder to, say, your desktop, then extract it to desktop, and you get a non-zipped folder called the same as the .zip folder. Inside that non-zipped folder is the actual fw file you need, which is the file you should browse to when going through the reflashing process

    soz, can't paste a screenshot :(

  • Hi GunJack i was trying to do the update the way you have suggested :) but no luck, i opened the zip folder which had the file in copied to desktop tried to update via Ethernet (whilst disconnect from net) , is there a way when in the router to disconnect the internet session ( end the PPPoA session) , whilst still been syced at the exchange. my old netgear has this option , once again many thanks :)
