I raised this problem with Greggs myself some time ago. This was there reply:

Thank you for taking the time to contact us about the temperature of our food. At Greggs we pride ourselves on the quality of our food, and I was therefore very sorry to hear of your disappointment.

None of our shops have a hot plate. The cabinet that you see if for display purposes only. As we don't advertise that we sell hot food, we aim to achieve our fresh taste by baking our Savouries little and often, to ensure that the best food is available to our customers. If you do require food that is fresh from the oven please feel that you can ask our team members which food is most suitable. If our food is fresh from the oven it should still feel warm through our bags. Therefore, our team members can place a bag over their hands and feel which of our Pastries are warmest. Alternatively, please feel that you can ask when the next batch of food is due out of the oven.

If you do purchase food from us that you're not entirely happy with please feel that you can return it to any of our shops and we'll happily give you a refund or replace your food.

Thank you for bringing this ton our attention. Please accept our sincere apologies. I hope that this hasn't affected your confidence in us, and that you'll remain one of our valued customers.

I almost always have to let mine cool because they are too hot! Maybe its the time I go in there they haven't been out of the oven for long, but can honestly say I have never had cold food from my Greggs branch
