Just been to greggs for my lunch and once again sooo disappointed because its freezing!!They say freshly baked products and have loads of warning on the packets saying 'this product is steaming hot, take care' well no it isnt. I go to a bakery to get a hot pastie/pie if i wanted a cold one id go to the fridge section in a shop.
Is it just my local greggs that always serve cold ones and am i just incredibly unlucky in the times that i happen to go?!
Its really really annoyed me because evertime i go in i think, o ill give them another chance, it cant be cold all the time but im always disappointed!!
Am i expecting too much? Or is it worth writing a letter?!
Btw i ordered a sausage roll, cheese & onion pasty and the new 'spicy one' all of them were cold or to be correct held very little heat in them!

Oh bless. But you do say "Its really really annoyed me because evertime i go in i think, o ill give them another chance, it cant be cold all the time but im always disappointed!!" so perhaps you know the answer to your own question..."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -

always cold. no of the ones i have ever been in have actually had hot counters. The food comes out of the oven hot but isnt kept hot in the same way as other bakers.Debt free since July 2013! Woo hoo! The bank actually laughed when I said I have come in to cancel my overdraft.0

I refuse to go to Greggs because of several reasons such as:
1. Food has been out too long in my opinion - when I asked the staff behind counter what time the "so and so" was made, to get a blank look and an err is enough for me.
2. Hot - yeah right? More like lukewarm to cold
3. Their steak bake?! Wot steak? few lumps of poor quality beef... hardly worth the effort of it all
3. Its a big chain - I prefer to support local small shops as long as they are clean, priced well and have a good range.
For example where I live is a Greggs and a local bakers. I tend to go to the bakers as they actually label what time the product was placed up for sale/made. I can then check for myself and the staff do keep constant check on their pasties etc. I have also found it much cheaper and their drinks are also cheaper too.
It is down to people power - Letters don't always work in my view. If its not up to standard, people will stop going into them - like I did. Eventually they will work it out and realise their errors.0 -
Just sent my husband to Greggs, and asked him to get me a pasty & sausage roll only if they were hot. He's just come back, and the food is freezing. The shop is less than 30 seconds from the house, and the member of staff serving him assured him they were hot. :@0

Not to absolve Greggs of their responsibility in this matter... but didn't your husband feel the bag to see if they were hot?! Men!"Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -

Nope, he trusted them, and the little paper bags were put in a plastic bag. I sent him back with them.
They said "we do sell cold food"
OH "I asked if they were hot, and was told yes"
Greggs lady "they were warm"
OH "No, they weren't. And I asked if they were hot, not warm. When were they cooked?"
Greggs lady "earlier"

I always make them check, so they put it in a bag, and if it feels warm I'll take it, if not they have it back.0
