I did try those but they really don't work well on a stretchy swim suit. I've searched everywhere for a printer who can do it with no luck, even the ones who do T shirts say no to swim suits, I guess it's the fabric which is the problem. xx :A

Would she like something like Lego?0

My dd is nearly 8, she LOVES playing teachers, she has asked if she can have a white board like they have at school for Christmas, she's always taking the register so am going to see if I can get one of them. I do remember seeing a school play set in one of the kids catalogues, it was about 25 pounds if I remember rightly, so I may investigate that too.
My dd is not really interested in toys, ds etc, but she plays teacher for ages!
Hope you find her something she loves.xx0 -
I just asked what my 10 year old niece (off ill) what she think would be a good idea and she said and indian wall hanging :rotfl:! Dunno where that came from lol.
Failing that, she reckons some nice bedding would be a winner...although my niece does seem to be a strange kid!!0 -
What about a trip to Lapland. She might no longer believe in S***a (don't want to offend anyone
) but I'm sure she would be thrilled with the "magic" of the trip. 0 -
I have a 13 year old son with special needs and yes, it's a problem buying for him! His developmental age ranges from about 3 to 7. This year, I think I'm going to get him a digital camera. He had one a couple of years ago and loved it, but since then he has managed to lose it. Hopefully he won't lose this one!
Would your daughter like a camera? Lots of children of different ages enjoy taking photographs.
Other ideas include tickets for the local theatre - would she enjoy a pantomime and maybe a meal afterwards? Toiletries? Girls World? Does she have the interest or patience for a period style dolls house?
With behavioural issues, would a spa day benefit her and help her to relax? What about a regular holistic therapy such as reflexology or Indian head massage?
One thing I enjoy is a magazine subscription. Even though your daughter doen't enjoy reading, is there a girly comic that she would like to flick through? I think there is one called Sparkle, and there are a couple about animals (my son loves the animals comics, but they are almost always pink - lucky for me, he doesn't worry about that!)
Does your daughter have her own bedroom? She could have a beanbag, curtains and bedding to match, or new storage furniture for her toys.
If she enjoys baking, could you find somewhere that will do this each week with her? maybe a student from a local catering college would be interested in helping her.
If you are considering horse riding lessons, does she like horses? Sounds like a daft question, I know, but they are huge when you get close up and some children take fright when they realise just how big they are. There are some donkey sanctuaries that have special afternoons for disabled children, so you might want to try this first.

I'm in Scotland so this might not help but my sister sent my niece on a course where they decorated cakes and cupcakes, would something like that be appropriate?0

She doesnt like lego im afraid or have her own room. She already has a camera but I was thinking of tickets as someone mentioned, she enjoys panto's etc and she'd love a pamper treat but I wasnt sure if these have age restrictions??0 -
I'm sorry I can't help OP, I have a very similar problem. I have a 14 year old with severe autism and fragile x. She isn't into toys, loves her ipod has a mountain of clothes. Her developmental age is around 3. No idea what so ever what to get her this year. It's so tough getting it right with these special kids isn't it.
My daughter is 13 tomorrow with autism and severe learning difficulties, developemental age 3-4. we are still on cbeebies planet, hello kitty, and Dora. She ia awful to buy for as she has what she needs! She loves her ipod too! But we have exhusted all the DVD's although we have found 2 cbeebie ones she hasn't got, she also choose some peppa pig stickers and dora stickers! Sad really. We just ask family to give her money ot tesco gift cards as she likes to but the odd magazine 9for the toy) she can't read! She still has money from last christmas and her last birthday! She also likes her ds and has loads of games!0 -
The company were called creative cakes and the course lasted 10 Saturday's. She came home every week with her cake (weeks where they did cupcakes they had half a dozen or so), a set of instructions and an ingredients list so we could give it a go at home.
They're a local company but my sister found them By asking the local college.
Eta niece was 6 at the time.0
