Oh I nearly forgot, Zoob are another super construction set. The difference is, these sort of click together, whereas the Wedgits just sit on each other, so don't require as much fine motor skills.0

Thanks ladies. Jakes-mum she doesnt really have any friends at school and gets picked on alot for beinf different. She does have 1 friend who is 3 years older than her who also gets picked on for her severe asthma and so they struck up a friendship. She is in a mainstream school and so all other girls in her form are into make up etc.
Gemmy the only tv she likes is adult programmes such as soaps (her fave is eastenders) and reality shows. Although she has learning disabilities etc she has another side to her which is very mature for her age and she is very quick witted. She does like listening to music sometimes and dacing around and she says she likes jls (although i have a feeling this is more about what her friend likes and she wants to fit in). I've tried to find tour tickets but the nearest from me is birmingham on a school night and i'd never be able to get there.
I know you say dont get hung up about spending the same amount but dd also has behaviour problems and she can be very nasty at times, if she thought her pile of prezzies was less or cost less she would make sure i knew about it for the rest of the year.
I'm trying to find something she'll be wowed by that fits around her likes. She likes pretend play but only games which make her in charge i.e. mummy and dolls where shes the mum and also teachers. She will sit for hours in the dining room on her own talking away to herself pretending to be a teacher and her imaginary friends and dolls are the pupils. She also likes drama at school and loves cooking (but i do have to be careful with that as she also has a dngerous food obsession which is spiralling out of control). The only other thing which excites her is extreme thrill rides, she absolutely loves going to the fair and on all the big rides....however I cant afford to buy her 1 of those and I'm not sure hubby would take to kindly to me setting up a pirate ship in the lounge lol0 -

I got my daughter her first set at about 24 months old. At 6 years old these are still one of her favourite toys. I purchased two sets to ensure she could do more with them.
No she hates to read and hates anything to do with art (this and pe are her worst subjects at school and she goes to many lengths to try and get out of them). She really doesnt like anything to do with puzzles either unlike my other 3 who love lego and puzzles and reading0 -
That's a sweet story, I'm glad he got what he wanted. All my daughter wants is a peppa pig swimming costume, difficult when she is an adult size 12 lol. She also asks for a halloween cat suit, but not the leotard leggings type, it has to be the kind that they sell for little kids in the shops. She doesn't get that they just don't make this stuff in adult sizes, sigh.
OP I do second the riding lessons. My daughter does riding for the disabled with school and it is the highlight of her week.
Could you not get a local dressmaker to run up a cat suit?Try to be a rainbow in someone's cloud.0 -
Would she enjoy a trampoline, if you don't already have one?The IVF worked;DS born 2006.0

If she like music how about a cd player, some CD's, a glitter ball & disco lights? Not huge disco lights but the little ones you can get. I do like the idea of getting someone to make an outfit, how about going to the local college to see if anyone could help.0

Don't know what your financial situation is, but our 4 kids (3-13) absolutely adore my iPad* The range of apps is amazing and it's a fantastic and user-friendly learning tool
*other cheaper tablets are available
EDIT: You could easily find one for £300One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0 -
