also 3 is normally easy to get a contract

may be its because you cleared all your debt

Have experienced Three and credit checking. Two issues you would have, one is electoral roll, and secondly, the fact it's an iPhone. As it's one of their more expensive handsets, it's likely they have experienced more fraud on this handset than others, therefore the bar at which they pass credit checks will be higher. If you're not on the electoral roll, they see this as being unable to find you should you default.

Although Three have been generally more lenient, they are tightening up.

The biggest thing for me was that because my address has 2 parts before the road name Experian cannot/willnot handle it & end up with the road name in the Town & the town in the County !

how did you get over this problem? Experian cant find my current or previous address on their system, i called and they said they would raise a dispute...
