Your top free software!?

I am going to make a disc for utilites and usefull or good software for when i am ever needed by someone to sort out their pc.
I have origional operating system discs from most of the ms.

What is your top free software?

I have thought about anti virus and spyware and firewall

so if you could help me with telling me this i can make up a few discs.

Avast! (The one i use, THE BEST)

...really brilliant!

Used it today to send a flow-chart I produced in VISIO to the whole team by email.

Anything you can print off can be converted into soft copy PDF.

can someone point me to the download of the version i would need. There are sm many links. Then i read further down and a link for a version of windows. Its confusing which to download
