    That makes sense actually! lol

I've just had another call to BG , not so nice this time , as I wanted to change to Direct Debit payments which would save me a heap as prepayment is the most expensive form of fuel

I don't owe them anything but still didn't pass the credit check so am stuck with the meters and higher prices!!! :(

All I can think is roll on the move to a smaller , more cozy , cheaper to heat place than where I am living now even though its lovely - The last 2 winters have been a NIGHTMARE for me fuel cost / trying to keep warm wise as the charges for fuel have been ridiculously high and keeping warm has actually been impossible for me

We switched from eon to edf cause we wanted to come off prepaid metersand eon wanted to charge us £50 to take each meter out, edf took them out free on the condition we stayed with them for 12 months.

Might be worth a try for you?

  • I concur tell em you're leaving unless they do it and then go somewhere else, even if you end up on a slightly more expensive deal it'll be MORE than paid for by not being on a prepay meter
  • i understand Scottish Power are in the scheme too, does anyone know how to apply?

I may be being thick :o but I can't find it.

Give them a call and ask how you apply. Their website is a nightmare - if it is on there they've hidden it well. They are definitely required to be offering the scheme. Its only the small suppliers who can do it voluntarily. Its law for the big boys

My friend had the same problem but they let her pay a deposit, I think £100 returnable after 1year.
