With regards in insulation and new boilers, check out the home front web site ... I have just applied to get my house done
2012 wins approx £11,000 including 5k to spend on a holiday :j0 -
I am with British Gas and the only thing I don't understand is why the rebate is given on your ELECTRIC meter rather than your gas as to keep warm surely a nice credit of £120 on your gas meter would help you get through the colder months in heating rather than the credit being on your electricity meter
(
The rebate is given on electric because not everyone has gas. The government wanted it to be fair and accessible to all .... and everyone uses electric.2012 wins approx £11,000 including 5k to spend on a holiday :j0 -

That makes sense actually! lol
I've just had another call to BG , not so nice this time , as I wanted to change to Direct Debit payments which would save me a heap as prepayment is the most expensive form of fuel
I don't owe them anything but still didn't pass the credit check so am stuck with the meters and higher prices!!!
All I can think is roll on the move to a smaller , more cozy , cheaper to heat place than where I am living now even though its lovely - The last 2 winters have been a NIGHTMARE for me fuel cost / trying to keep warm wise as the charges for fuel have been ridiculously high and keeping warm has actually been impossible for me0 -

If it wasn't for Martin I think thousands of us would be struggling to keep our heads above water far more than we are.
Thanks but I just tried, and if you don't get any of the benefits listed above it won't let you proceed with the application form. I expect we'd be eligible for a boiler scrappage grant as our boiler is about 25 yrs old but we can't afford to pay the large remainder unfortunately.0 -
Anyone know if the Co-Op offer anything along these lines re the rebate scheme? Can't see anything online.0
