Disneyland Paris hotels

  • Take a look at the Explorers hotel as this may be the best option for you with 3 children. I've stayed at the Holiday Inn, Moevenpick Dream Castle and the Disneyland Hotel. The rooms at the Holiday Inn and Dreamcastle were beautifully themed but you'd be hard pressed to get a family of 5 in without it being a complete squeeze. The Disneyland Hotel was beautiful and the rooms much more spacious, but of course expensive (we wangled a complimentary night there so didn't pay - long story).

I've done both self-drive and Eurostar and would recommend the Eurostar - simply in terms of convenience. To get the best fares you need to book 6 months in advance. If you self drive it is an easy 3 hour journey and there are plenty of places to stop en route. The train station is right outside the entrance to the Disney Parks and the bus stops serving all the Disney Hotels. Whilst we were there we took a train into central Paris and that was fantastic too. Have a great time.

Try https://www.365tickets.co.uk for your hopper tickets, they are the cheapest I could find (but haven't finished looking yet!)
    I haven't got one!

    Hiya

We've just returned from Disneyland Paris - last night!

It was our second trip. First time we travelled by car and ferry and stayed at Davy Crockett. This time we travelled by eurostar and stayed at Seqouia Lodge.

I would absolutely recommend eurostar - it is just so simple! We boarded at Ashford, having stayed overnight at a Premier Travel Inn just minutes away. Check in is quick and easy and they provide a little pack for the kids - a puzzle book and crayons. The train has toilets and a buffet (expensive but then so is the ferry I suppose) We took our in-car DVD player and dd was very happy for the two hours we were on there. It was an hour extra coming back due to the bad weather, but still ok.

We didn't have the express check in so had to take our bags to the hotel and book in, but this was actually a very good thing as it turned out! We went straight into our room at about 2pm and were in the park by 3pm (after taking our time settling in etc). When the eurostar peeps came to collect their bags and check in later, there was a massive queue in reception and one woman we spoke to didn't get into her room until 8pm!

I would also recommend staying at an on-site Disney hotel - it really is worth the extra cost imho. There are Disney characters in the foyer every morning with a well organised and small queue (better than the park rugby scrums for your youngest at least!) They also have a massive array of breakfast foods and it is eat as much as you like. At Davy Crockett, you get a set amount per person.

It is great to be so close to the park too - less than 10 mins walk around the lake.

You can get a kettle for free - we took our own coffee and a small carton of UHT milk and used the room fridge.

Hth, you'll have a great time,

  • Disneyland Paris Hotel is the only one for me, worth the money for the fact alone that it is right in the park for convenience, but the plus point has to be the characters are always everywhere! You need never have to pay for a character breakfast when staying here, as each time we have stayed here as soon as we head for brekkie in the morning each character sits with us for photos and plays tag with kids etc! We went for a superb evening buffet meal at the hotel the food was to die for, the only problem was the characters kept coming up to us every 3/5 mins someone wanted to shake hands - in the end they became a nuisance as we couldn't get on with our meal!!!

Thanks everyone for all your help. Finally booked with leger and going to self drive to the Davy Crockett lodge. The main thing that has swayed this is that the kids go in a seperate room so at least I can get some peace and to recharge my batteries for the next day. Also able to cook in the evenings as everyone mentions that it is very expensive for food.
Total cost for 4 days , 3 nights is £365 which is a good price. all the kids are free and I used 2000 nectar points for another 10% off. Plus we can drive to the park and will get free parking there ..

loopylass .. have a look at the leger website they do seem to be the cheapest and they do coach and eurostar. https://www.tothemagic.com
Go before April and there is a free child per adult and you also get free upgrade in the disney hotels...
And for single parents they offer a discount when you share a room with at least one kid (3-11yrs).

Receive a discount of £40 from the second adult price on 3-day breaks, and £60 off the second adult price on 4 or 5-day breaks.

Again thanks for all your help
  • We've stayed in the Sequoia, New York, Explorers and the Disneyland Hotel. They're all nice, but the Disneyland Hotel was by far our favourite. The fact that you're straight into the park is fantastic.

Where ever you decide to stay, you'll have a fab time.

If you're staying onsite stay at the Cheyenne (book direct through Disney for best rates, all packages include park tickets). It's very well priced and probably has the most charecter of all the Disney resorts. It's the only hotel that has bunk beds. If you're not bothered about staying onsite stay at holiday inn (book through their website) and get annual passes. An annaul pass costs about the same as a 3 day hopper but you get 10% off in the shops and restaurants. You also get 10% off future stays at the hotels. Even if you don't return within the year, it's still worth it. You buy them in the park at the passport office (near buzz lightyear). They knock even knock the money off that you paid to get in!
  • We stayed at the Cheyenne. I have left a review of it on review centre.
