I told mine, We all buy gifts, BUT Santa brings the main one.
That is how my parents told me, And they still write the tag from Santa on my main one.
At the end of the day, Santa only has enough room for one present per child. And anyway, he couldn't afford more due to the recession.0 -
when i was little i was told that mum and dad bought the presents to help out santa, as santa was very busy. but that they gave him the presents to deliver on christmas morning. never remember querying this!0

yeh, I can understand why she'd be confused saying thank you to relatives for gifts when she's told they are from Santa. In our house, Santa brings presents, mum and dad pay for them. But relatives pressies aren't from Santa, they are from the relatives, and the gift tags are written from the relatives, not from Santa.0 -
I'd just say he doesn't exsist but I'm a bah humbug0

In our house santa brought the sack (pillowcase) on the end of the bed which was there when we woke, and we knew the rest that was waiting for us downstairs was from mum and dad.
In fact even now I'm older and left home, Santa still has to bring a sack when I go back home for Christmas. Unfortunately mother has now started insisting that Santa brings her one as well.......All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
We said that Santa actually fills the stockings (they get hung up on the fireplace on Xmas eve) and delivers the other presents, but that Granny, Auntie, Mummy and Daddy - whoever has written on the tag has bought and paid for them. Santa just does the delivery overnight on Christmas Eve, a bit like the UPS man or postie.0

In my house it was always that Santa brought the stocking (or should that be sack! :rotfl: ) of presents, though i think as we got older mum and dad used to say they got them then sent them to santa (i once dropped my mum in it by saying "i didn't know santa shopped at netto"
