Just wanted to see if the if the figures put about by the media reflected larger views as the polls in the media are only 1000 or so but there are millions on this site.
AS you call yourself "your opinion counts", I would like to know your opinions on this subject.Otherwise I think you are a troll.0 -

It's not so much the question, rather the manner. If you'd posted in DT with a thread title such as 'the government's debating civil partnerships - opinions?' with a link if possible then you might have starting a (vaguely) interesting discussion.
As it is, you just come across like a provocative homophobe."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
Of course it should. I don't think it's controversial either, it just should be. Equal rights

The procreation argument is flawed for reasons stated earlier - from my view, my husband and I married last month with all of our five children present. He had a vasectomy before hand. Perhaps we shouldn't have bothered as we'd already finished procreating, but to us marriage is about love and commitment.LittleMissInDebt0 -

This is what I think. Gay marriage is allowed and has been since 2004. I doubt there's any political nor public appetite for changing that. It's hardly the most controversial of changes in legal policy - just an inevitable (and welcome) sign of the times.
If you want to troll on the internet with provocative little threads, then you could do a lot better than this."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
Every human is covered by the human rights act (in the EU anyway) and that covers Article 12 - the right to marry and found a family.
Just because you want to marry somebody of the same sex should you be denied your human rights?
Does it make you non-human just because you are homosexual and not hetrosexual?
NO!
These rights were created so that idiots like you could not dictate who can and who cannot marry.
I'm guessing gay couples adopting is a no no as well?0 -

So, to summarise: "I can't really see anything wrong with, but I'm going with no."
Why shouldn't I marry/civil partner/whatever you want to call it my boyfriend?Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.

True, but the Garden of Eden would have been fabulous
Besides, if people view marriage with procreation, then we should also prevent the infertile and people who don't want children from marrying. Good plan?Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
