Are Ebay Gillette razor blades fakes?

I've just bought some Gillette power razor blades from Ebay, delivery was very swift & the blades look genuine to me although the packing is in German not English.

The seller has 100% positive feedback over a couple of years and nearly 1000 sales over 2 years, mostly selling similar sorts of item.

Is there any way I can tell if the blades are fakes? If not they'll earn repeat business, if so, well that depends on the quality of the blades.

Anyone with past experience?

  • Sybarite.............Look in the mirror after you've shaved! If you're all slashed and bleeding.you got fakes!! :-)

If they work okay and don't make you look like the aftermath of a Freddie Kreuger attack....keep using them...should be easy enough to decide if they're the real deal or not................ := )

I pretty much use gillette all the time and cant say i have ever heard of fake blades (doesnt mean there isnt any)

he could have simply got his hands on huge supply of german blades.

try them and find out, if your happy with the result then use them.

    YES they are fake!

I purchased some Gillette Mach 3 blades for my partner and some Gillette Venus blades for myself - we both got cut and sore after using them! Normal blades purchased from Boots and supermarkets are fine though. There was definitely something weird about the ebay Gillette blades, packaging looked fine though but the blades themselves appeared to be mounted at a very slightly different angle to genuine ones and the blade did not fit into the handle as well as genuine blades do as the ebay blades were harder to release, they did not just pop out but had to be forced out.

Having given one an unscientific test (I've a couple of days growth more than usual & usually shave in the shower which I haven't today) I'm still not sure.

If fakes then they are pretty reasonable ones, there did seem a bit more 'tug' thank usual but that could have just been due to the longer stubble.

Can anyone recommend a legit Ebay supplier? I really object to spend £15 on 8 blades from Boots.

Gillette razor blades are cheaper at Wilkinsons. (Not sure of the exact price - I'll have to check with the husband!) :o
