Mobile with free laptop

Like the posters above, I would avoid mobile phone deals with laptops due to the cost. They probably bundle the cheapest low spec laptops as well. If you want HDMI to connect it to your TV, there is little point if a cheap processor can't handle video smoothly. It's better to go for one with an i3 processor, such as this Asus for £329.99: https://www.saveonlaptops.co.uk/ASUS_K52F-EX635V_1081603.html0

Your post is self-contradicting as the OP said nothing about the monthly price. Some laptops (don't know about HDMI) are available on £50+ contracts. Yes, very poor value for money, but not impossible.
Oh.My.God. Now compare the cost of that contract to a SIM only one with the same minutes etc. Work out the difference and that is what your free laptop and phone is costing you.
Take a contract which is £15 SIM only or £50 with a free laptop for 24 months. The difference a month is £35. Over the 24 months that free laptop and phone has cost you £840. Take off the cost of the phone, usually a model you can get for £50 PAYG at Tesco, and the laptop has cost you the same or more than it would if you went to PC World and bought it on 24 months credit at 29.9% APR.
But it doesn't end there. If you don't cancel the contract after the minimum period, you will still be paying £50 a month for £15 worth of contract...0 -
And I suspect in many cases the laptop has ceased to work well before you've finished paying off the 24 month's payments...No free lunch, and no free laptop

I see the laptops available only on £51+ tariffs with 1200+ minutes.Oh.My.God. ...
Take a contract which is £15 SIM only ....
Even at giffgaff you will pay £25, not £15.
At no point I advocated this sort of deals with gifts. Quite the opposite, "very poor value" was what I said in the third line of my first post.0 -
OK I think everyone agrees the contracts are poor value for money, in the past when my OH has taken these contracts (one with Nintendo DS as free gift the other with refurb PS3) he has taken an older handset so this is why his hasnt worked out very expensive (around £25/month), stupidly I thought I might not pay much more for a higher spec phone with a laptop. I stand corrected, it looks like you take one or the other, good monthly price or laptop included deal furthermore most of the laptops on offer are pretty poor anyway0

....and overpriced when you work out the true cost.0
