best deals on suntan lotion?

have been keeping my eyes peeled for a good deal on suntan lotion. will need quite a high factor because the other half is fair skinned.

i have about 30 quid in points on my boots card which i have unexclusively set aside for the purpose, but was just wondering if any of you more seasoned travellers could advise me if there are any places i can look for good quality, reasonably priced suntan lotion.

(there's no immediate rush..not going til septrember, bit still..i like to be organised :D )

  • The best suntan lotion in the world is P20. It used to be only available on airplanes but now it can be found in wilkinsons, savers and possibly boots...

It's not that cheap (I think about £10 for 200ml) but it is fantastic. It's non greasy, truely waterproof and lasts all day. Everyone I have told about it thinks it's wonderful. No more burning and a lovely tan if you get the weather.

    Hope this helps

Have a look in supermarkets and high street chemists for No Ad suncream. The name stands for Not Advertised!

It's a lot cheaper than brand name suncreams. It's not greasy, rubs in easily and smells quite nice. I've used it on me and my children for a few years now, and we've never burned.
Here I go again on my own....

I have also been looking for suncream and found what I think is a good deal. Boots are currently doing a BOGOF on their own Soltan, the average price for 200ml is £8.50 - 10.00ish which is quite good considering thats for 2 x 200ml. But they also sell what they call a daily takeaway size which is £1.99 for 100ml and comes in a sachet with a lid and this is also BOGOF therefore is £1.99 for 200ml - and is great that the smaller size is easier to carry on trips away from the hotel.
    Waddle you do eh?

I've heard loads of good reports about P20 too. Am definately going to try it this year.

My Mum is off on her hols in April and has just got some suncream from Avon - they're doing BOGOF at the moment. Not sure how good their prices are though! My Mum is not the best moneysaver going!!!

Our local Boots currently have a shelf of various sun creams at Half Price. Lots of different makes.
Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...
  • I used the boots own brand cream last year when on holiday and found it to be poor. I found it quite runny and not very good in water.

I still recommend P20. I saw it in Boots for £11 at the weekend. Sounds expensive I know but it's really worth the money (cheaper in savers and wilkos). Most people use it and will never go back to other lotions..

many top brands currently in BOGOF in boots (suntan lotion and aftersun)

think they are also currently running an offer where if you spend £25 in a single transaction you get about 200 extra advantage card points (think you have to print oout the voucher from the advantage card machine to qualify).

    hope that helps :)

Sainsbugs are doing BOGOF on the Nivea suncreams and other ranges - I have started stocking up.

loopy_lass - I am so pale I'm pale blue :rotfl: , but found the Nivea suncreams to be excellent for a tan - started off with a day or two of the factor 35 (because I burn walking under a 40w bulb lol), then the rest of the week on the factor 20 and came back a lovely pale brown (very pale brown, but the brownest I have ever been). Leaves your skin so soft too.

Going to Egypt in May, and keeping an eye out for factor 'lead' lol

    Luis.
