Get it in the fridge Kezz...It will be absolutely fine. As I say hubby is a chef and a bit paranoid too lol. Just reheat is to piping hot as already said. Honestly, you won't have any problems if you get it cool and in the fridge now...stick it by an open window with the lid on if it aint quite cool enough for the fridge...it'll cool in no time in these freezing temps
Onions and members of the onion family ferment quite quickly and therefore can turn food off quicker....it will smell funny before it tastes off. I also remember hubby telling me to be very careful of kidney beans too...not that I eat them anyway euchhh! but I think that might have been to do with cooking them properly in the first place...bad memory:o
Anyway....stop worrying and get it sorted in the fridge...seriously it will be fine and Im sure it will taste great!DEBT FREE DATE: 05/02/2015!Those things in life that we find the hardest to do, are the things we are the most thankful we did.0 -

I left chilli out in the slow cooker overnight and we had it for our tea this evening. Not ideal, but not likely to cause food poisoning.
Your mince will be fine, it won't be swimming with bacteria, as the bacteria will have been killed off during the cookinig process. The only way that there will be bacteria in the mince is if you've introduced them by using a spoon or other utensil that's been sitting on the worksurface or been in your mouth etc (Cross contamination) As others have said, reheating your mince until it's piping hot tomorrow will kill off any bugs that have had the chance to grow in it.
Kidney beans (dried ones) contain a toxin called phytohaemagglutinen which is why they need to be boiled for at least 10 minutes (to remove the toxin) before they are eaten. If you use tinned kidney beans, the heating will have been done as part of the canning process.
Red kidney bean syndrome is usually caused by the ingestion of raw, soaked kidney beans, either alone or in salads or casseroles. As few as four or five raw beans can trigger symptoms. Several outbreaks have been associated with "slow cookers" or crock pots, or in casseroles which had not reached a high enough internal temperature to destroy the glycoprotein lectin. It has been shown that heating to 80°C may potentiate the toxicity five-fold, so that these beans are more toxic than if eaten raw. In studies of casseroles cooked in slow cookers, internal temperatures often did not exceed 75°C.
So if you pre-soak kidney beans to use them in your slow cooker, make sure that you boil them for 10 minutes first, as the temp in the slow cooker is unlikely to be high enough.....0 -
And I should add that kidney bean poisoning is truly horrible. I had it when I was 15 and stayed with my dad and his wife. I was sharing a room with my best friend. It is very amazing she carried on being my friend, after my bizarre behaviour in the middle of the night ... followed by rabid vomitting.Mortgage started on 22.5.09 : £129,600Overpayments to date: £3000June grocery challenge: 400/6000

I cook big pans of chilli etc and it sits on the top of the oven for a couple of days. We're not dead yet - never been ill from it either.******** Never be a spectator of unfairness or stupidity *******"Always be calm and polite, and have the materials to make a bomb"0
