I have zero tolerance on this. there is no excuse...

    I despise that phrase. :(

I own and use a wide assortment of re-usable shopping bags. I have to stop myself buying new ones if I see a new design (Morrisons ones with veg on are my favourite :rotfl:).

I travel a lot and these bags are indispensible for that as well as for shopping.

However, I still collect disposable carrier bags. I have a cupboard for them, just like my mum did. I shop on the fly for odd items a lot and pick them up on those occasions.

    I use them:
    • As a leak-proof layer for transporting unsealed milk to work in my rucksack
    • To wrap shoes or other 'unclean' items that are being packed together with clean clothes
    • To make putting waterproof leggings on over boots quickly, easy
    • For seperating clean and dirty clothes while travelling
    • For covering the saddle of my pushbike
When the bag has worn out a bit/got milky, it becomes the bin liner for my kitchen bin.

When all supermarkets start charging for disposable bags, then yes, I guess I will probably buy a roll of bin bags instead.

I will use and throw away the exact same amount of plastic, I will just have to pay for it instead - which is no big deal - I just wish people would take a more balanced view regarding carrier bags, rather than either:

    A) 'OMG how dare supermarkets make me pay for something' or

B)'Anyone who ever uses a disposable bag is lazy, irresponsible and enjoys force-feeding plastic to cuddly animals'
