Do you have any games planned? A couple of cheap ones that go down well are marshmallow game where kids stand in a line and have to see how many marshmallows they can keep in their mouth while saying a variety of silly phrases or singing a nursery rhyme. Another game is getting children into teams then they have too wrap one member of their team up like a mummy. The fastest team to completely cover the body wins. Just use cheapest toilet roll you can find. Hope this helps. xxxx0

Hi, my son was 18 last weekend and we were very careful how we contacted his friends, as the Social network way of contacting people can cause all sorts of problems. We sent out 100 invites via e mails and text messages, and we got 2 replies, In the end most of the peole came that were invited, but it does seem that generally the lazyiness of people is getting worse as time goes by.:mad:0

You have my sympathy!
I have this problem 3 x a year.
Really annoying when people don't bother to let you know if they will be coming or not. I even include my mobile number so the parents can drop me a text, but still a lot of people don't bother to reply :mad:Busy working Mum of 3

At least,if anything, this thread has shown me not to take it personally as it seems poor manners are far more commonplace than I first thought! We'll just stick to three friends and cinema/safari park/kids soft play etc in future and put the hundreds we'd have spent on a class party towards the family holiday...why didn't I think of that before?? :rotfl:Slightly mad mummy to four kidlets aged 4 months,6,7 and 8:D:D xx

My son's 4th bday party I invited 10 from his nursery... 2 rsvp's and they were the only 2 that showed up, I was so mad! My son has a best friend who he talks about all the time and he didnt turn up and the next day at nursery he asked his mate why he didnt come and the little boy had no clue that it was even on. I asked 'please rsvp by email, phone/text' I sent out a reminder the friday before, still nothing! I am still so mad about it now! It's plain rude!! My poor little man asked me were all his friends were on the way home from the party too
Those parents have made an enemy I tell you

I have spent a fortune on birthday parties over the past couple of months with one nearly every weekend. Myself and 2 of the other Mums got together and had a joint party for our girls to try and save some money and so there weren't even more parties to attend!! A few of us have said we will just have one big party next year for them all, but if that doesn't come off DD wont be going to all the parties that she went to this year.
Not replying is just plain rude but I must admit like onlyroz I don't like using the phone so paniced a bit when DD got one with just a landline number. Luckily I caught the Mum at nursery and let her know.
But I'm bad, DD was supposed to be at one today and we got already and set out. Got there only to discover that we were late, I was convinvced the invite said 1pm but it was actually 11.15amSo as we arrived everyone else was going home!! I felt really bad for the MUm who had paid (soft play area) and for DD who missed out
