JUST EAT!!! Or not as it happens!!!

It was a place called Ocean in Bimingham.
Wouldn't touch them if I was dying of starvation...0 -
If you mention it to their customer care team, they usually sort it out
Their review system annoys me though.
Last week I went to order from a place and instead of a star rating it said "NEW! Be the first to try this restaurant" so I gave it a go. It was atrocious. It turned out that they had already had two reviews stating this in the previous week, but the website doesn't show that a restaurant has been reviewed until they receive 5 reviews.
I got a refund, but they wanted the food back. I obliged, but very nearly lost my refund as the food was returned in an "unusable" state. Eep!
I wonder what poor sucker ends up with your returns :rotfl:
Out of curiosity.. what was the problem and how was it unusable?
Ya'not having much luck at the moment are ya'.0 -

No-one, they left it in the end. (I may have tipped everything into a bag, and then left the bag in my wheelie bin to stop them re-selling it. The delivery driver didn't want to fish it out)
The food turned up 2 hours after ordering, it was freezing cold, the chicken smelt like gone off fish, and the burger meal was stewing in some unknown congealed matter.
Took me 24 hours to get them to drop the cash back, including 15 calls to Just-eat's godawful CS.
I got £30 worth of vouchers and a 50% refund on the replacement meal I ordered, though. Bonus0 -
They emailed a game app (with chance to win some £)
(closes 15th Sept 2011)

I use just-eat loads. Yes, it probably works out a bit more expensive than going direct, but at least I can understand what the website says, whereas I can never understand what the person at the other end of the phone is saying, and presumably they don't understand me either because the order is usually wrong.
At least with JE I get the correct order without any hassle.0 -
Oh look! The food Nazis are here!
Why can no-one talk about eating a take-away without being treated like some fat lazy slob?
Maybe, as it was the last £20 until payday, OP fancied treating the kids, and enjoying a night off from cooking?0 -
Wow, never been labelled a NAZI before for encouraging healthy eating, and refuting someone's death wish..
In fact I find that totally offensive and hope you retract it.
How is eating the occasional take-out a death wish? The thread is not about how the OP chooses to eat, it's about a company's p*ss poor system for taking card payments.
I'm sure if the OP had wanted to be judged for enjoying (or not, in this case) a take-away, they would have said so...0 -

I find it hard to believe you are actually offended by being called a Food Nazi, if you are prepared to criticise another poster on how they choose to feed their children (which is offensive in itself) then really you need to be a bit more thick skinned........This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Never had a issue with them. But I did cancel an order once and the money was returned in 3 days.
What I don't understand is if you only have £20 why are you buying take aways. You could much more then one meal for £20 at a supermarket.0 -
