Well after you popped on I decided to go back and read though my whole diary and I can't believe all the unexpected things that kept popping up that needed to be paid for which kept pushing our dfd further and further away. I think it just highlights how important it is to have an emergency pot!!
Don't be too disheartened our original dfd was 2013, now it's going to be 2016 and it would be even longer than that if I hadn't had a massive work promotion/pay rise and hubby hadn't got a full time job instead of running his own business.DFD September 2017

Forecast overpayment almost got derailed as I got offered a load of granite blocks which could be used for the garden at a incredible price, bartered them down a bit more and arranged delivery....alas no blocks, block man has now gone awol!! Overpayment 1- blocks 0
Aside from that the banks are ticking over nicely had a bit of a shock that the d/d for one of the new c/c had been set up £100 higher than I thought but I have reduced the other one as that goes out later so all is on track.
Off to check the banks, update my spreadsheet and do some work for my Health and Safety course I've been asked to do at work. Thrilling!!DFD September 2017

I noticed yesterday when I posted my % paid off that at the end of the month my amount left to pay will be under £7k and over 25% paid off. Woohoo a quarter gone, feels like a big milestone to me!!
I celebrated by buying a couple of money tins from the pound shop, the ones you have to use a can opener to open. I'm sick of change lying around the house and I normally throw it in a bin with my handbags in in the wardrobe but I thought the tins might make us throw a few bigger coins in and encourage the hubby to not leave it hanging around for me to tidy!! Especially if there is a bit of a competition between us :-)
Already checked the banks which are behaving themselves off to try and score a few freebies from work for the garden. Mostly some visqueen for under the decking. Have a good day everyone.DFD September 2017

Given hubby his tin and issued the challenge. We have decided that whoever wins gets to decide how the money is spent. He quite liked the idea, and the tins, and as he pointed out the tins need to opened with a tin opener so he cant just grab some change if he needs it, which he was always doing!!
Got some orange stickered meat/fish in the c0op last night, enough for 4 dinners plus some other fresh items bananas, milk, bread and some sandwich meats. Only £15 so that means the shop at the weekend will be small.
Hubby doing some jobs for a family friend today, on his day off, which means free haircuts for ds and hubby and cut/colour for me.
Going to be spending a bit on money on clothes over the next couple of months (all budgeted for) hubby needs new work shirts/pants, ds needs new uniform but will just buy a couple of pairs of pants for now and I need a dress for a christening. I have got some cashback pending though so hopefully that should cover some of it.
Off to check the banks and credit cards to see if figures have been updated.DFD September 2017

Pay day at the end of the week, all looking ok with the banks.
Its going to be a busy month next month, hoping to get the garden progressed would be lovely to see some turf down by my next pay day in July. Going away with my friend in a couple of weeks. It's also my mums birthday next month but she is away so I'm doing it this month and we are going having our nails done.
Probably no overpayment this month but will have something to show for it in the work put into the garden.
Going to have to keep an closer eye on the hubbys bank this month as he has gone from temp contract (weekly pay) to permanent (monthly) so he will go 5 weeks without pay. Thank goodness for his second job which pays at the end of the month, his new monthly pays mid month so that should tide us over.
In July when he starts being paid monthly I will increase his c/c payments in line with his new pay.
It's lovely thinking that this time next year all the debt will be gone and we will be saving/shopping for a family holiday.DFD September 2017
