I just had to let you all know about this! 2 people weekend break for £126.92! Flights, 2 nights bed and breakfast in 4 star hotel in centre of Barcelona, parking on site at Luton Airport & a hire car in Spain for the trip for £63.46 per person!

I booked flights from Luton to Gerona (Barcelona) for two 3rd - 5th February £2.84 (BO/GOF)

I used the EasyJetHotels price guarantee to get a 4 star hotel in the centre of Barcelona for £56.48 (original price £321)

I used the link and code on the travel section of MSE (http://www.bcponline.co.uk 'BN221' gives 15% on parking) to get on-site short stay parking at Luton for £30.60

And I used the http://www.travelsupermarket.com/carhire link on the travel section of MSE to find the cheapest car hire when I get to Spain and that was £37.00

And all thanks to MSE - thanks very much guys!!!!!

Could you tell me more about this bit please :-I used the EasyJetHotels price guarantee to get a 4 star hotel in the centre of Barcelona for £56.48 (original price £321)

    Thanks

be carefull with this - i had my t&c's with me saying this, and tried to us my picture driving license, they still refused to let me fly without a passport - apparently it's at their discression. Thankfully i had my passport.
Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it.
Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.
  • Local paper here backed up story that Ryanair were aware of the situation and will honour booked flights.

Anyone got tip on transfers Beuvais to Paris? 4th Feb so it will be a Sunday evening. I've seen a few options already but I would rather hear from a seasoned traveller.

Last time I was there (a year ago) there were really only two options: transfer coach (13 euros single) or train (about 11 euros single for an adult).

Train isn't any quicker, runs through (and stops in) not-so-great areas, and you'll need to get one of the not-so-frequent bus services into Beauvais town centre / train station.

So get the coach - especially on a Sunday evening.

I have been flying with Ryanair between Prestwick and Dublin for the best part of 11 years now, they have never asked for my passport if I present my photo driving licence.

Right, regarding flights to Dublin, you do not need a passport if you have valid photo ID.

From the British Embassy in Dublin website, http://www.britishembassy.ie/

Flying between the United Kingdom and Ireland
As the United Kingdom and Ireland forms a common travel area, it is not necessary for the nationals of those two countries to carry a passport when travelling between the two.
However, for their own administrative purposes, some airlines flying between the UK and Ireland require all their passengers to have some form of photographic identity when checking in.
Passengers are strongly advised to check with their airline, before flying, on exactly what their individual requirements are.
A valid European Economic Area (EEA) driving licence with photo, presented by a passenger whose place of birth is within the EEA is acceptable only for travel on internal flights within the UK, internal flights within Italy and UK-Republic of Ireland-UK.
You will find the same paragraph under documentation in the above link.
I have flown to Dublin several times including a Ryanair flight yesterday and have never taken my passport yet.
However, please ensure that the spelling on the ticket and driving licence is the same, otherwise you will be turned away. This happened yesterday to the couple in front of me, he had his first name as something like Mike on the ticket and on his ID it was Michael, they wouldn't budge and sent him off to buy another ticket or not travel.
