the oldest 2 have asked for playmobil this year, which im happy with as what they already have gets lots of use..with them both being at full time shcool now alot of stuff they dont get out much so i need a big sort out after october half term
I did usually have one Santa present that was "big" ie a dolls pram, keyboard etc along with the sack. They might be big in size, but they don't need to be expensive - the pram year was £8 I think, the keyboard was £5. Now my DD is older and into gadgets etc, her pressies are more expensive and a lot smaller!0 -

We never did a big present until the kids got older, then they started to want electrical gadgets and things which cost more. Does anyone else put out a pillowcase for Santa? Both OH and I did this when we were little and have carried it on with our kids. We probably put 5 or 6 things in the pillowcase but to be fair ours get practical things like pjs, socks and pants, hats and gloves, t-shirts etc as well as some fun stuff. Then for the last couple of years its been one main present from us and their stocking.
We have a big family and if I am honest my kids get far too many presents. I just look at it all and think - where are we going to put it all!0 -

What a lovely idea.0 -
Oooh, I like that idea! I wrap all the books into one present too.
Is the one gift from Santa, or all 4 of them?
One 'main' gift from Santa as well as their stocking.
Three gifts from 'mummy & daddy.'
Our kids are 10 & 11 so we haven't entered into what I will call 'mega expensive gift requests'. Last year Santa splashed out on lego as the main gift.0 -
Just been out and bought all the stocking presents....thanks to your thread!! The tickseed website is great (also curious caterpillar). Did anyone else see the T-shirts pens which asked you to name a price??! They've been pulled off this morning, I was wondering if anyone has had their order honoured. (I've 'bought' 6 pks @ 20p each!!)Aug 2011 £95500 aim to pay off Dec 2019

Oh we all love stockings in our house. My sis's and I always had one till we were in our 20's and it was mostly toiletries and stationary bits. My DD has always had one and is now 15. So last year we set a new tradition- ME OH and DD all go out in December and have £10 each to buy stocking pressies, so that's £5 a person so each person ends up with £10 of goodies ( does that make sense??!!). It was great fun and we ended up with lots of silly bits too which was hilarious on Christmas morning as we all had some things that no-one knew about except the buyer. I have to say DD is much better at this than OH!! We went to Hawkins Bazaar, Poundland and Primark and off the top of my head some of the things we got were a pack of fake moustaches and eyebrows for OH which we all had to wear for xmas dinner, a pack of top trumps which we played in the afternoon, some table fireworks which we "played" with in the evening and set all the fire alarms off as well as sweeties and smellie bits for the bath so we could have indulgent bathing experiences. It did work for us and produced some memorable christmas moments so will be attempting the same again this year esp since we're not going to do "big" pressies and have no real need to..Grocery challenge October: £228.28/£250.00 NSD 4 ( not completed)
Grocery challenge November : £291.65/300.00 NSD 10
