What time do you consider a lie in at the weekends?

Andrew gets me up at 7am regardless of whether it's weekday or weekend, so a "lie in" would be him not shouting for breakfast until 7:30am

On the weekend, Marley doesn't get up until I take him coffee between 9 & 10am. I used to find it annoying. Now I just work our family routine around it: I have one-to-one playtime with Andrew in the morning; and I leave Marley to do all the tidying up & washing up late at night after I go to bed :heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

Since dd hit 14 (now 15) her semi vampire dna has enabled her to sleep until 2pm on a weekend - the latest she went was 4pm but could probably have slept for longer if I hadn't employed the glass of cold water over the feet trick.
I get up at 7 on weekdays, ds (4) usually allows me to sleep in until 8.30 on weekends, simply because he gets into my bed and plays on my blackberry for an hour. I *love* my blackberry.
This morning I woke up at 7 and couldn't get back to sleep so the whole house is clean and all the washing done already.0 -
I get 2 hours extra @ weekends
normally 7am. Friday nights, I do marking & lesson prep though, so I'm not usually in bed until 2am, so it evens out.
I'm about to get the teenager up though (lord protect me from the stinky room), but DS2 has been playing on minecraft since 9.30. Off to our food festival at 12.30, so action stations now.Noli nothis permittere te terere

I feel ever so guilty - I didn't get up till 11am today. The joys of not having kids! In my defense, i've been feeling under the weather the past few days:o2011 Wins : Models own makeup product, Photoplusx4 software:j Mens hair dye :rotfl:0

What's a lie-in?
I refuse to get up for anybody, unless they're vomiting or bleeding, earlier than 7AM. Anybody who tries will get growled at. These days I can usually get away with 8AM at the weekend, but it's a rare sight for me to still be in bed by 8:30. Hubby, of course, is still in bed as I write...
As for how much sleep I need - I can just about function on 5 hours, but unless you want a super-crabby mummy you'd better let me have 7-8.0 -
our big dog is between 82 and 86 kilos.
But we don't need that...we got up late today, at 7. Like some one else mentions, we have a diy project of a house...a weekend is either a maintenance job or new ground broken. V. occasionally we take a day off, where lounging is ok, otherwise, we make a list on friday night of what we want to do.
Sometimes that goes wrong, eg. this morning over coffee I pointed out what I thought was an old path under the grass...we are still in pjs, but now have a garden path! Only one other thing on the list done and thats the hedge we wanted to get cut.0 -
Oh I can relate to this. I have always been an early bird - 8am is a lie in for me but OH is the complete opposite. Used to drive me batty when I was up and ready to get on with the day and he was still in bed.
I think we have found some middle ground now though and both get up about 9am on a Saturday. DS plays football on a Sunday morning and we sometimes have to set off about 8.30am which is really hard in the depths of winter!
As others have said weekends are too precious to waste staying in bed!0 -
