  • I double checked my no claims bonus and will have it in writing. It is 8 years despite the accidents at close of the policy. As for claiming for the bollard on insurance, i don't know. I guess it must be covered as they are fixing it?
  • I had business cover on the policy. Not it's not Bradford.

Have you actually spoken to Sheila's wheels and asked them why they've done this and whether they can do anything about it? As soon as most insurance companies hear a 'yes' to having a policy cancelled they'll run a mile or ask for silly money...

Puzzled as to how they can cancel a policy mid term without a very very good reason?

Is the policy midterm or have they cancelled the renewal?

When you apply to other companies i dont see how they can apply 8 years no claims when you have had 4 claims
whether at fault or not. Doesnt the protected part only work for 2 non fault claims or similar?

If you fail to notify the new insurer of ANY claim, accident without a claim or anything you fail to mention then the policy
will be cancelled very quickly with little chance of getting a reasonable quote for a long time.

Did you notify the new insurer you had a policy cancelled? That usually makes alarm bells ring to them.

Did you bother to read the thread? She's 1 month into the policy. It's this policy that has been cancelled.

I would contact the Insurance ombudsman, they are quite strict codes in practice to prevent insurance companies dumping off victims of other peoples negligence.
They will be hoping that you just go away quietly.
The financial Ombudsman (http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/ or whatever they call them selves now can order the RBS fronted company to honour the contract they sold or impose a compensation payment upon them which can be quite punitively excessive .
First you need to use the internal complaints procedure so get the details of the complaint team at Shelia's wheels and scribe a complaint state they are breaking the contract when no contractual terms have been broken, that if a satisfactory solution is not presented within 7 days you shall inform the "whatever they call themselves" to investigate and that during the complaint they should maintain to honour the contract.
    WRITE + recorded delivery.

PS expect this advice to be trolled and flamed, unfortunately it is weekend warrior time on the forum where all the bootlicker !!!!!! junkies come out to get there weekly fix or reading the trials of innocent victims of Authority and sticking in the knife.
It's pay back for having to have their faces rubbed in it in dead end jobs monday to friday.

    So true....

But yes, your advice is spot on. Its completely unacceptable. I could understand it if the OP hadn't put business use on but they have.

Or perhaps the OP didn't name the HP company as the owner of the car and it came out when the claim was made.

Well after all your guff in the other thread, Sheila Wheels can, it's in the t&c's

"We also have a right to cancel your policy at any time by giving you seven days’ notice in writing. We will send our letter to the latest address we have for you. If we do cancel your policy, we will refund the part of your premium you have not yet used.
If you or we cancel your motor insurance at any time, we will automatically cancel any motoring legal protection or breakdown assistance cover purchased with the main policy."

However that doesn't help the op, so as usual, let's ignore them, and at least I'll be consistant.

Op, you need to write a formal complaint to them anyway, ask them why they have cancelled your policy, and ask them to re-instate it.
If they refuse, refer the complaint to the ombudsman, but don't complain it has been cancelled for no reason, as they do have a right to do that.
Post back when you have more info.
