I wondered if you were driving something very low that wouldnt be seen through a rear windscreen. But you're not......

Of course it is. Did nobody tell you that green cars are involved in the most accidents?

Later that day I had a letter delivered stating I am having my insurance cancelled in 7 days ( 15/9/2011).
Did they give you a reason?

2 accidents in the first month of insurance would be a good enough reason!

while 3 of the "accidents" were no fault of your own, it does perhaps to an insurance firm suggest that you're parking in areas which are liable for damage to occur - hence they'll be put off you, you might not have been involved in the accident, but a number of young male drivers aren't boy racers, they still get whacked with £4k insurance! Frankly, driving into a bollard would also be a HUGE factor - all signs on that front would point to careless driving, which well, doesn't exactly help your cause, you might only have been at fault for one accident, but boy were you at fault for it!

Best thing you can do is start to ring around companies but if you've been offered £1400-1800 after 4 accidents in 12 months, bite the hand clean off them.

  • I have just found out that I have 8 years no claims. Which I am hoping may go sone way to reducing the premium?

    I wouldn't be so sure.

Your NCD would have been reduced after each fault (or claim) accident so until liability is resolved for the remaining accident you will probably have lost almost all of it (if it's found in your favour your NCD may be re-instated)

Also-you now have to declare that an insurer has cancelled insurance, whenever you apply for insurance again.

Sorry but it doesn't look good for you.

3). I hit a bollard. Clearly my fault.

I didn't actually realise you could get something like this repaired through your insurance. Didn't the excess cost more than the repair anyway?

Sorry ( posts crossed) I am a community worker in a large city and have no control where I have to visit.

This isn't Bradford by any chance?

Also, as you are using your car for work do you have business use on it? It may be that your policy has been cancelled because you didn't get business use and they have now found out you were using it for business or work.
