Help Sheilas Wheels cancelled my policy - what can I do?
Options
Hi
I had 2 accidents last week ( one my fault and one has not been declared yet). I was told to make two claims which I did and then I would pay 2 x£250 for my XS. The garage rang and arranged to pick my car up and deliver the courtesy car. Later that day I had a letter delivered stating I am having my insurance cancelled in 7 days ( 15/9/2011). My car will not be fixed by then and the courtesy car will be taken away.
I have used an insurance broker to assist me with getting new insurance and only one insurance company will offer insurance of £1400-£1800 depending on my no claims bonus that is left at the end.
My problem is the is : both the repair garage, the broker and insurance companies tried to quote from have not heard of this happening before. Particularly when only 1 month into the policy.
I have had 4 accidents in the last year ( 2 no fault and insurance company claimed the costs back, 1 my fault and 1 yet to be determined). Can any one please give me advice on how to complain and/or whether I have a case for the financial ombudsman.
It is likely I will be left with no car ( I use it for work daily and cant do my job without it) for the duration of repairs as no new insurance company will cover it while my car is off the road.
I am really at my wits end and don't know what to do. Please can someone help me.
Thanks

What kind of accidents were they? To be honest you/your car sound like a liability.
The insurers are concerned about how much you might cost them. 4 claims in 4 years would set alarm bells ringing, never mind 4 in 1!
Could you lease a car that includes insurance? I think I saw a peugeot ad about it earlier this week.Science adjusts its views based on what's observed.

1). Someone reversed into my parked car ( I was not in it) . They admitted full liability.
2). Someone else reversed into my car in a car park. They admitted full liability.
3). I hit a bollard. Clearly my fault.
4). Someone reversed into me ( awaiting decision of liability)
the accidents have happened since Feb 2010. Apparently I have 8 years no claims bonus!0 -
Perhaps with your record you should seriously ask yourself whether you should be driving at all. Could you manage by using public transport? Also, you could pay a lot of taxi fares with the kind of insurance premium you will have to face.I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.0

My car was new and bought on an hp so I still have 18 months left to pay so can't really afford a different car, unless I sell it?0

Sorry - posts crossed. But insurers are wary of people who have lots of accidents, even when they're not always their fault.I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.0

Understandably. Just how are you parking for so many people to manage to hit you?Science adjusts its views based on what's observed.

I asked how you were parking, not where!Science adjusts its views based on what's observed.
