thanks, it just gets better< i dont think anyone could actualyl make this up. The manager has just phone dme back, apparently I have to go to the branch so they can call security and speak to me direct, but they cant call me a santander employee has to witness me there and then call them. I'm so angry i'm probably going to throttle someone up there. They say it so matter of factly that you ahve to come in, i said this is the fifth time with the same paperwork (oh she says you dont have to bring the paperwork we have it all here from previosu visits but they need to call security and speak to you) I said why couldnt you have done this saturday when i was there and she said i wasnt aware you didnt speak to them! the other person did why didnt she ask them there to talk to me.....
its just shocking customer service from santander that dont care a bit about customers, i'm surprised they have any customers at all if this is the way they are treated.Listen to what people say, but watch what people what people do!!0 -
thought i would update this thread not received any information until yesterday, santander called and said she had listened to a number of the telephone conversation i had with santander staff and she agreed that they had been terrible and it should never have taken 5 attempts to advise me the right information i needed, she also said she listened to one conversation and she said i could tell how frustrating it must have been for me and she was amazed that i had remained so calm (and i replied well i knew i was innocent), she said that part of the problem had been that there was a note on the system to say i was under investigation for fraud so when i called everyone i spoke to treated me that i was commiting fraud and wasnt very helpful and she agreed this is where they need to change they way they operate and i said they need to take into account information such as the fact i had been banking there for over 17 years without and issues or being suspected of a money launderer.. She offered to pay for the interest and late payment fees from the credit card and also offered £100 as a goodwill gesture, she asked if i was happy with that and i said i will think it over as i lost three mornings off work as i had to take holiday to allow me to go down to the local branch. I dont want to push my luck but kinda feel there just palming me off.Listen to what people say, but watch what people what people do!!0

sorry one last question do you think its worth me going to the financial omsbudsman with regards to the cashier accusing me of money laundering etc.Listen to what people say, but watch what people what people do!!0

Keep in mind also that as a direct result of their incompetence there may well be late payment markers on your credit file affecting your ability to get credit / decent interest rates for several years.
This cannot be compensated for by a three figure sum.Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

I feel for you. I hope those attracted by Santander's incentives to switch will read your post."A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

thanks for the replies i did ask santander about the credit mark and she said it was a internal issue and i said what about my credit card, ok i paid it straight away but it was about 2weeks late and incurred interest so they could mark it as a black mark.
maybe accepting £100.00 was letting them get away with it, although I thought well i've left now so they potentially dont have to give me anything.Listen to what people say, but watch what people what people do!!0 -
I find it hard to believe paying £14K in then transferring it out of an account would cause an automatic fraud check.
Do you think the jobs worth in your branch was miffed you did not take their loan and flagged this for fraud check knowing it would cause you grief?
It seems the manager could have done more to help and if it were me I would write a "Customer Complaint" naming those who I felt had given me poor service to Santander head office. Unlikely it will benefit you, but it may be a black mark against those individuals and might help avoid a similar problem for a.n.other customer.
I would be checking my credit file on Experian to see what has been recorded against my credit history. You may find this issue comes back to haunt you, if and when you apply for credit in the future.

Hello I didn't just put the money into anyones account, this is somwone I have worked with for 15years, he was helping me out, I phoned abbey national branch to say I've had a loan paid in and I want to buy a car, they said they don't hold that money in the branch and that I have to give 48hours notice to collect it and also I had to go to another branch as they won't let me collect the money from there , he was helping me out because he knew I wouldn't be able to get my car. When I bought the car I walked straight into a lloyds branch with the seller, the cashier asked him if he was selling something and they counted it and said that's fine its in your account so you can now hand over the keys to me.
They were taking a risk that their account wasnt frozen , pending investigation tbh . I get questioned if I put pay in large sums of cash , and thats with a business accountVuja De - the feeling you'll be here later0 -

Really? , that amount would surely flag up . I know of a large vehicle dealer that have been instructed by their head office not to take cash amounts over £10k because it could cause problemsVuja De - the feeling you'll be here later0 -
HSBC went all AML-crazy on me just for taking out £2,000 for a deposit on my new rented flat. Double teamed by two members of staff in branch.
I ended up winning by suggesting they come with me to the lettings agents to see for themselves exactly what the money would be used for if they so fancied.Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48
