Well, I've made my order. The code worked, and I have the email telling me my order is being 'prepared for delivery'.
This whole touchpad thing has become something of a personal folly. I've already got the accessories sat on the chair behind me, bought from HP and delivered just today. They were SUPPOSED to go with the tablet I bought at a markup from an amazon seller, having missed out on the original firesale because I was stuck in the middle of a salt marsh in Essex. I figured that even at the markup it was a bargain, just not quite such a good one as the chap I was buying it from got it at.
However, since then it's been almost two weeks and it has yet to arrive. It's still within the delivery estimate, that was a whole twelve days long and it was supposedly dispatched the day after I ordered - what kind of a courier takes more than a few days to deliver? I have no tracking number and the seller has ignored four emails so far, so I'm assuming the worst and getting ready to make an Amazon claim.
This second tablet is my insurance. In the event that I end up with both, I'll sell one on. And not for a penny more than I paid for it. I may be a sucker and an idiot when it comes to shiny tech, but I'm no scalper.
(Besides, if there's a second wave coming into shops the eBay market will suffer)0 -
It was still showing on Dixons, Currys and PCWorld when I looked a few minutes ago - doesn't come up by searching touchpad but does searching hewlettpack - 32gb bundle with docking station and case, £249 (£236.55 after 5% discount using TABLET5 code above). Cannot order on its own but 32gb touchpad works out at £174.95 after discount (or thereabouts!).
